Zhangjiajie Airport to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is located in the northwest of Zhangjiajie Airport, about 30 kilometers away. Before you leave Zhangjiajie Airport for Wulingyuan, you are suggested to work out an detailed travelling plan for the vast Wulingyuan Scenic Area in advance.

Wulingyuan Scenic Area, the UNESCO World Heritage, consists of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Yuanjiajie, Tianzi Mountain and Yangjiajie. Most travelers would take flights to Zhangjiajie and then transfer to Wulingyuan District Central Area directly for accommodation. They would spend about 2 days exploring Wulingyuan Scenic Area. On the first day, they will visit Zhangjiajie National Forest Park with sightseeing to Huangshi Village and a walking tour to Golden Whip Stream. On the next day, they will go to Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain and then get back to Zhangjiajie downtown area.

There are five ticket stations of Wulingyuan Scenic Area. Among them, Forest Park Ticket Station is close to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Zimugang Ticket Station is close to Yuanjiajie, and Wujiayu Ticket Station is close to Tianzi Mountain and Wulingyuan District Central Area (About 1.6 km to the government of Wulingyuan District). After getting familiar with the Wulingyuan Scenic Area/Zhangjiajie National Forest's location and its ticket stations, it would be easy for you to travel between Zhangjiajie Airport and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. By Taxi - Easy & Direct Way to Reach Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

Taking a taxi is a popular as well as the easiest way to get from Zhangjiajie Airport to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. It is easy to find a taxi at Zhangjiajie Airport and can take you to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park or Wulingyuan District Central Area.

By Bus - Cheapest but Time-consuming Way Recommended for Independent Travelers

Zhangjiajie Airport to Wulingyuan District Central Area (About 50 mins ~ 90 mins)

Most travellers will stay at Wulingyuan district for their following tour. The driving distance between Zhangjiajie Airport and Wulingyuan district is about 35 km, which takes about 45 mins by car.

You could take a bus at Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station to Wulingyuan district. There is one bus every 10 minutes. Operating time of the bus is like this: 06:30~18:30 (Autumn/Winter), 06:30~19:00 (Spring/Summer). You need to think if you could catch the bus when you arrive at the bus station. The bus ticket is ¥ 12/person and it will take about 40 minutes to Wulingyuan Bus Station.

Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station is about 5 km (10 mins' driving distance) to the airport. You have following ways from the airport to Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station.

1. Airport Bus - Bus No.5 (About 50 mins)
The airport bus will only take you to the Minhang Hotel (About 20 mins). Then you need to transfer to Bus No.5 (About 30 mins). The Airport Bus will depart when every flight arrives. Meanwhile, it's free to take the bus.

2. Bus No.402 (About 40 mins) /Bus No.4 (About 45 mins)
Both bus no.4 and no.402 can be taken to Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station. You could take the bus no.402 at Hehua Airport Station and then get off at Ganxi Bridge Station. Then you need to walk for about 1.4 km to the Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station. (Or you could take bus no.4 at Airport Station and then get off at Tianmen Mountain Cable Car Station. Then walk for about 700 m to the Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station.)

3. Taxi (About 10 mins)
You could take a taxi to Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station. It would be cheaper to take a taxi outside the airport parking lot (Go out of the airport and turn right). There you may need to pay about ¥20 ~ ¥30 for taking you to central bus station.

Wulingyuan District Central Area to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (About 40 mins)

How to get to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park from Wulingyuan? You need to go to the Forest Park Ticket Station to enter Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. The driving distance between Wulingyuan district and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is about 20 km, and it will take about 30 mins by car.

There is daily bus that departs every 30 minutes (6:30~17:30) from Wulingyuan Bus Station to Forest Park Ticket Station. The bus ticket is ¥10/person. When you go back to hotel in Wulingyuan District Central Area, the latest bus from Forest Park Ticket Station to Wulingyuan Bus Station departs at 18:00.

Wulingyuan District Central Area to Yuanjiajie & Tianzi Mountain

How to get to Yuanjiajie & Tianzi Mountain from Wulingyuan? Most travellers will go to Yuanjiajie first and then go to Tianzi Mountain. Then you need to go to Zimugang Ticket Station to enter Yuanjiajie, or you could go to Wujiayu Ticket Station. The driving distance between Wulingyuan and Zimugang Ticket Station is about 15 km by car (About 25 mins), and the driving distance between Wulingyuan and Wujiayu Ticket Station is about 1.6 km by car (About 5 mins).

As there's no direct bus from Wulingyuan to Zimugang Ticket Station, you could also enter the scenic area from the Wujiayu Ticket Station, and then take the free sightseeing bus to Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain. The distance between Wujiayu Ticket Station and Yuanjiajie is about 12 km. You need to take the bus no.1 for about 1.6 km from Wulingyuan to Wujiayu Ticket Station (About 20 mins).
