Means of Transportation in Zhangjiajie
By Coach
Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station (张家界中心汽车站), located near Zhangjiajie Railway Station and the Tianmen Mountain Cable Car Ticket Station, is the primary long-distance bus station in the area. It offers regular coaches to popular destinations such as the Yangjiajie Scenic Area, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and nearby attractions like Fenghuang Ancient Town. Additionally, if you're arriving at Zhangjiajie West Railway Station (张家界西站), there's another bus station nearby that provides convenient access to these scenic spots as well.

Transportation: It is about 1 kilometers to Tianmen Mountain Cableway Station (a 15-minute walk) and about 30 kilometers to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (50 minutes by car).
By Taxi
Traveling around Zhangjiajie by taxi is convenient and affordable. The starting fare is ¥6 for the first 1.6 km, with an additional ¥2 per km beyond that (2024 daytime prices). It's easy to catch a taxi anywhere in the city and ride to railway stations, airport, and major attractions. Be sure to ask the driver to use the meter when you take a taxi.
By Bus
Buses are available in Zhangjiajie, running between Zhangjiajie downtown area, Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport, Zhangjiajie Railway Station, Tujia Minority Folk Park, Puguang Buddhist Temple at a very cheap price.
By Cable Car
Each tourist spot in Zhangjiajie is a vast and complex system, especially the Wulingyuan Scenic Area, which includes Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Yuanjiajie, Tianzi Mountain, and Yangjiajie. Within Wulingyuan, you can explore by hiking, taking free sightseeing buses, or opting for the extra-charged Bailong Elevator and three cable car lines. To travel up and down Tianmen Mountain, you can ride the 99 Bends sightseeing bus or take the Tianmen Mountain Cable Car.

Get to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is a large tourist spot which worth about at least 2-3 days for your exploration. There are five entrances that you can enter Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, including Forest Park Ticket Station (森林公园门票站), Wujiayu Ticket Station (吴家峪门票站), Zimugang Ticket Station (梓木岗门票站), Yangjiajie Ticket Station (杨家界门票站) and Tianzi Mountain Ticket Station (天子山门票站). Among them, Forest Park Ticket Station and Wujiayu Ticket Station are mostly used entrances. Most of the coach would stop at Forest Park Ticket Station.
