I went on a four day tour of Yucha Grand Canyon and Hukou Waterfall arranged by China Discovery. My travel consultant was Wonder Wang. I was totally impressed with the response time, the efficiency with which the trip was arranged, and the quality of accommodations along the way. The company provided a very spacious van, which made the road trip very comfortable. The driver was very good at navigating through traffic, construction, and crowds. Last but certainly not least, I had the most wonderful guide, Bruce. He was very fluent in English, probably one of the best guides I’ve had in China. He was very knowledgeable about the history and geography of the area. He was very enthusiastic about educating me on the historical significance of each place we visited. Most importantly, he was flexible and allowed me to make small changes to the itinerary. I learnt a lot from him and now I am eager to perhaps go on another tour with China Discovery. I had some challenges getting to Jiuzhaigou and Evelyn was able to help me even in the late evenings prior to my travel. My husband and I were on the 13-Day Beijing/Xian/Guilin/Zhangjiajie/Shanghai Tour with China Discovery from 15-27 May 2024.

Overall, we had a wonderful time on our trip.

Organisation

Everything went very smoothly, just like clockwork.

Guides

In each city, on our arrival we were met by our guide who took very good care of us.

Our guides were: Beijing- Andy; Xian - Grace; Guilin - Peter; Zhangjiajie - Nina; Shanghai - Jeff.

All the guides we had were knowledgeable about their city, its history, and culture. They were also friendly, and flexible in accommodating our requests and also showed their professionalism by always being on time in the morning and during our time with them, they were always helpful, patient and understanding.

I would like to mention that 2 of our guides (Andy in Beijing and Peter in Guilin) were excellent. Their English was fluent. It was also obvious that both took great pride in their work.

Peter was very earnest, and very clear and systematic in his explanation of what we would see and do in the places we visited and he was also extremely helpful.

Andy was the best guide we have ever had. In addition to the qualities mentioned above, we found him very energetic, enthusiastic, lively and with an amazing sense of humour. He was very flexible and really went out of his way to accommodate our requests, for example, to visit a place which was not on our itinerary, but which both of us wanted to see - a Catholic Church associated with Matteo Ricci. He knew interesting little areas and eating places to which he took us for local food and snacks. He even got us some snacks when he thought we might need some sustenance. We had interesting conversations with him and it seemed more like we were spending time with a friend rather than with a guide we had just met.

Nina, our guide in Zhangjiajie, was very sweet. Her English was not as fluent, but she was very caring, helpful, very patient and kind especially when we had to negotiate all the steps up and downhill in the mountains. She was always very concerned about how we were faring, even in the type of food we enjoyed when we told her we just wanted to try the local food.

Transportation

The cars we travelled in were very nice, clean and comfortable. All the drivers, besides being very helpful, especially with our luggage, were also skilful drivers who conveyed us safely through, often, very heavy traffic.

The express speed train from Beijing to Xian was an enjoyable experience. The train was very comfortable, and the toilets were very clean.

But the 7-hour journey on the high speed train which stopped at all the stations between Guilin and Zhnagjiajie was less comfortable.

The train itself was fine although the journey was long.

For one thing, there was a man just behind me who talked very loudly for hours on his mobile phone. I could not change seats because the train was quite full.

Then, there were 2 people quarrelling at the entrance of our compartment when we were trying to board the train. They blocked the entrance and refused to move until someone in charge of the compartment screamed (right next to my ear) for the security guard. We had to literally bulldoze our way into the train which was about to leave.

Hotels

The hotels, besides being grand, were clean, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The one in Guilin had a fantastic view.

In general the breakfasts provided by the hotels were also excellent.

Sights

We think China is a very beautiful country with so much history, culture and nature to enjoy. Being on a guided tour, we had less contact with the ordinary people than we would normally have when we do a free-and-easy trip. But, all in all, we had a great trip and we would like to visit China again.

So we are thinking of going to the following places sometime in October 2024, after the Chinese National Holiday in early October.

The tour arrangement was good and adequate pace for our family. I would definitely recomment your service to my friends and family who wished to join a more private tour in China.

Perhaps can add on services to recommend dining places (and assist to make reservations) prior to the trip as there are limited platforms outside China for us to make reservations. For me and my family, we take our dining seriously and would like to enjoy local food. We enjoyed our time, especially in Xi'an, as our guide brought us to places she has patroned for food and went extra miles to recommend good dining places in Xi'an. We love her recommendation.

Firstly, I must said you are very responsible and trustworthy. As this was the first time we got China Discovery to arrange the above tour,

Highly Recommended for your reliability and the excellent service provided.

It was unfortunate that our trip coincided with China May Day holiday as most places of interests were crowded.

My personal opinion, the program could have been better spaced out especially for seniors.

The train from Chongqing to Xian arrived almost at midnight and we reached hotel about 1am. The departure from hotel to see the Terracotta the next morning was 06:30am. Too tight, we barely had 4hrs of sleep. It would be better if the visit to the Terracotta is in late morning or early afternoon. Unfortunately, my wife and I were unable to join the visit to see the terracotta as we find it very tiring after the long train journey from Chongqing. Had to give it a miss.

However, we did enjoy the Beijing tour very much especially with your guide Mr Jackson Liu. He was very cheerful and knowledgeable. Also very helpful.

Overall it was a very enjoyable trip and will definitely recommend my friends to seek your assistance if they are planning a China trip, My wife and myself will definitely engage your services in the near future for our next China tour.

Ok, my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the cruise - we upgraded the room which we thot was very good and very well maintained. Even the bath towels are of good quality!

Special mention to our guide Lawrence from the ship - he was assigned to assist us since he could speak English - he was very good and made sure we understood the detailed itinerary. We’re very glad that he was there to help us all along the trip!

We think the pace of the tours were good, and the processes and organisation for embarkation etc were very well thought out, planned and executed. We also enjoyed the narration when the ship cruised through the gorges, I think it was also Lawrence who read out the English descriptions of the cruise and the features that we were passing.

If there was one complaint, perhaps it was that there are not enough lifts in the ship and they didn’t go to the top floor. I think this is especially for older tourists like me!

Yangtze River Cruise could be better if the weather was great. We love our room though however should improve on sound proofing the room. Guide Betty for White Emperor City spoke excellent English. We were disappointed with the dual language guide for Three Gorges Dam Project. He spoke Mandarin most of the time and we could barely understand!

The only time when we experienced a little anxiety was when the fast train from Lijiang to Kunming removed coach 9 and moved the first class coach to coach 1. Unable to find coach 9 we boarded with our two heavy luggage onto coach 8 and was then informed that the first class coach has changed to coach 1. We quickly disembarked, push our luggage all the way to coach 1 and embarked again.

Other than the above minor inconvenience, the trip as a whole was superb. Both the local guides and drivers were fantastic.

April, my travel consultant, was responsive, helpful, and friendly, addressing all my questions and needs promptly. Our tour guide, Steven, was not only friendly but also adaptable to our needs and the unexpected weather conditions (there was a cold front during our trip) without the need for me to ask. His food recommendations for our meals at every restaurant were superb and we got to taste not only the local specialty but also what the restaurant is known for. Last but not least, Mr. Young, our driver, ensured our safety with his steady driving.

Thanks! I had a weekend away to Xi’an, China to celebrate my birthday. It was an exciting weekend and it was certainly something off the beaten trail for most of my friends. The itinerary you have suggested provided good coverage of the city’s rich history. From the fascinating Terracotta Army to the City Walls to the sacred Mount Hua, to the Muslim Quarter to the Drum & Bell Towers, there’s an interesting story from every historical era in Xi’an. I managed to hike up Mount Hua from North Peak to West Peak, but I didn’t get to do the dangerous plank walk as it was closed.

The hotel Eastern House was very accessible too with food places within steps and its proximity to the Drum Tower is a plus. The room was very clean and comfortable.

At this point, I have to quickly mention our amazing tour guide Betty Jiao Yan who was assigned to us as part of our private tour package. She made our time feel so very special and I wonder if Xi'an would have been as awesome without her. She had such a positive and caring nature and when we had to say goodbye, we felt very sad. It was strange to miss a guide after only knowing her for 5 days! Luckily we still keep in touch on WeChat. Our driver Mr Ma was very polite, punctual and accommodating, making our travel a pleasant experience

Thanks for reaching out. The China trip was great. I loved the hotels we stayed in, they were all really comfortable. Everything was well planned and the guide and driver even got out of the way to bring us around and night for dinner or other activities like onsen even though it was quite late.

I would also like to thank you for your prompt responses and ensuring that the trip itinerary is properly passed on to the guide.

One feedback I would like to give is probably the meal section of the itinerary. There was a slight misunderstanding as the guide thought that no lunches were provided, even though it was stated in the itinerary. However, it was cleared up after a quick phone call, which we were quite impressed by it.

Overall, it was a great and smooth experience and I would love to engage your team again.

The website on China Discoveries is so informative together with Ellen's tips and suggestions, we can venture to some places outside of our itinerary during free time, covering some of the interesting uniqueness at the locality.

The driver, Da ge and Ellen our group only had praises. There were no negative comments from me and the group.

We just returned from our family trip to Hunan. Our tour arrangement by April Zou from China Discovery was absolutely wonderful. It all went smoothly and safely. April was really professional and she communicated promptly and was always available and meticulous with the details. The schedule was all followed through very smoothly with no disruptions. She even helped in liaising to help my son locate his lost bag from the rail station lost and found. The tour guide David Niebai (nickname “Nearby”)and driver Xiaoluo for our Zhangjiajie and Fenghuang tour were really very experienced and professional. David was very knowledgeable and very helpful and made our tour a comfortable and comprehensive one. His recommendations on the scenic spots as well as food were great. We had a beautiful experience seeing different sights and sceneries, trying new adventures and tasting interesting and delicious food. The driver was attentive and careful in driving and very experienced. Both tour guide and driver were non-smoking as well as the car which was rather new and smoke-free which exactly met our request. Everything was in good timing and to add to that, thank God, the weather was great and since it is not peak season, there were no crowds. Century Oasis - it's new and we were given 3rd Level, but only dine in one restaurant. Still it's good. Allan, the Cruise manager took good care of us as we were the only few that requires English guides.

It was just before China's golden week and it was a rush to get our itinerary finalized as our tour would start immediately after the golden week holidays. The good thing was that Jack Li, the Travel Consultant at China Discovery contacted me promptly and we got everything finalized in record time! Jack was very knowledgeable about the region and gave me excellent advice. This resulted in the inclusion of Guilin in our itinerary. Hui Hui and I have returned to Singapore after the vacation in Chengdu and Xi'an. We wished to thank you and the local teams in both Chengdu and Xi'an for making our stay in both locations a relaxing and enjoyable one.

During our time in Chengdu, we were most impressed with the attentiveness and thoughtfulness of Ellen, the tour guide. Ellen paid careful attention to our preferences for meals and selected restaurants and dishes according to our tastes. She was also mindful if we were feeling tired and adjusted the programme accordingly. Ellen was superb in making sure we have the best view of the Pandas by taking us on different routes, avoiding the hoards of big tour groups. Ellen also made the extra effort to help find out more about certain locations which we casually enquired, providing us details of how to get there and return to return to the hotel. We were also very appreciative of the driver, who was always patient with us and always on-time at pick-up locations. He was especially careful with our safety, always ensuring that we hopped into and off the car safely.

Ben, the tour guide at Xi'an, impressed us with his enthusiasm when introducing the various sites. He was ever ready to share relevant information and was patient and tireless in answering all our queries. Ben was also very helpful in offering suggestions on spending our free & easy day in Xi'an. The driver in Xi'an added much laughter to our time in Xi'an, enriching our knowledge of Xi'an with many local fun-facts. He is a safe and skilful driver and helped to save us much time manoeuvring around the heavy traffic of Xi'an. We also appreciated very much the efforts of Ben and the local agency for making alternative plans within short notice when we requested to change the itinerary.

In summary, we had a good time in Chengdu and Xi'an. The itinerary and pace were just right for us, relaxed and not rushed. The local guides and drivers were excellent and we are happy with the selection of the hotels throughout the trip.

Yes we enjoyed the tour. Langmusi and Ruoergai were pleasant surprises as they are not very well known to tourists outside China, even if they are ethnic Chinese.

My main comments on the arrangements are:

1. The driver was very skilful and thoughtful (even though the airport pickup was late, I suppose that was a miscommunication). You may have heard that at the last moment, Sichuan Air cancelled our flight from Jiuzhaigou to Chengdu. The driver was willing to drive us back to Chengdu and the price he charged was reasonable, especially since he had to drive back to Jiuzhaigou without any passengers.

2. I was hoping, however, that the car provided for the trip would be a bit bigger and more comfortable. My brother and I are used to travelling in SUVs whenever we go on private tours in China. But again, the driver was very good, and I suppose the car he had would have been his taxi.

3. The guide, Jerry, was okay. He likes to eat a lot! I think sometimes he is also a bit more concerned about taking routes that are less crowded. Maybe this works for some tourists but for my brother and I, we are photographers and videographers first and foremost. So getting the right pictures and videos may sometimes require us to take the more crowded route. We also need to pay attention to the lighting (顺光) because if the lighting is not suitable, the photos and videos just won't turn out that good.

Regarding the itinerary, as I said everything was perfect. Just a recommendation in general: - Maybe if I would skip one thing, it would be the Sangke grassland. It is a rather small area, not so natural but very commercialized, and I think not so interesting for tourists from Europe or Central Asia. - One place where I would rather have spent more time is Gyantse. A very beautiful town but due to the very packed itinerary we arrived there only at 5.30pm so had just short time to see Palcho monastery and nothing else. It was one of my favorite places.

Once again, thank you so much for your support and patience, over almost 4 years, to finally get this trip organized. I can't wait to come back another time!

For the guides all were great. Knowledgeable and helpful. One snag was our flight from Urumuji guide misread the flight we were to be on . I told her the correct one but we were directed to an earlier one Ted 8.25 instead of 9.55. Small matter. We just had to check out very early . Most highly recommended. Drivers were fine, patient and know their routes.

Sights were interesting and well arranged. Lunch mist did they best to meet to our requests. Hotels all ok. Grand Mercure was the best.Kashgar’s if it was one of the best was very chaotic especially at breakfast time.

He's very patient in answering all the questions I have and when it comes to us making arrangements on the visa, he's able to provide the information as soon as I emailed over which makes the visa application smoothly done on our side. Not only that on the day of the flight, I emailed over to see who we should contact if we missed out on the pick up at the airport, he was able to reply as soon as possible with the necessary information shortly after.

Tour arrangements were planned according to what is/are requested by us. As the weather is hot and prone to heat stroke, tour guide is considerate to also adjust the schedule accordingly.We still managed to complete what was planned out by just shifting the dates around.

The hotel staff was very helpful when we requested her to show us the way to CityNote Hotel Beijing Road Dafosi Park Metro Station. This is a very short customised arrangement during which the China border is not fully opened yet.

China Discovery charges a premium though, but it delivered without fail.

The VOA is very new to even the custom officers who were on duty when I cleared the immigration check at Shenzhen as well as the HK side. I must say that the agent did his professional service by always on the call to allow on-site changes of my arrival time because immigration clearance was so unpredictable. I can be assured that someone is just outside the arrival hall to pick me up and, I could tell the immigration officer that my local contact person is just waiting outside to pick me once I am cleared with this new procedure.

It is always safer to have a local contact to guide you and make arrangements for your local transfer when language ( Cantonese instead of Mandarin) is a problem in China .

We did quite a lot of research for travel agency before heading for our first trip to Lhasa, Tibet; since foreign travelers to Tibet have to purchase a tour. China Discovery did a great job in helping us get the Tibet Tourism Bureau permit, booking our train tickets from Xining, Qinghai Province, to Lhasa; and organizing a private Tibetan guide, Tenzin, and a driver, for our 5 days in Tibet. They also helped us with all Covid-19 safety measures and authorization requirements). Great sceneries and sites, especially Yamdrok Lake, Khambala pass (4800m), Potala Palace, Sera Monastery and Deprung Monastery. Our guide Tenzin spoke very well in English and was very helpful.

My suggestion: No need to visit Summer Palace; suggest organizing visit of Yack herd with Nomads in higher plateau and in Snow area. Otherwise, very good and Tenzin was excellent

On January 7, we celebrated my birthday in Harbin to see the beautifully carved ice sculptures displayed on the river. It is spectacular and worth braving the minus 20 degrees C weather! Both day and night views were lovely, when it is lighted, the ice sculptures turned to a colorful fairyland! Reflects on how much work and resilience had been put into achieving this beautiful Ice and Snow World. My memories were enhanced with the carefully planned schedule with Wonder from China Discovery. We had a good guide and driver, both had ensured we stay warm. For those who are in China this is one of the must see and experience location. We had done Beijing, Xian, and Guilin also with Wonder which all very well customized to our requirement. We always had good drivers and tour guides. In Harbin, Helen or guide even brought heated sole pads to keep us warm and made an album of the day’s trip.

The other worthwhile visited are Siberian Tiger Park, Sun Island and definitely Volga Manor.

The tour itself was good many beautiful sights. The first week in August is not the best time due to high temperature and heatwave. I am sure if we done this in spring or autumn even winter would be even more spectacular. Overall we had a wonderful trip one with memorable and captivating sceneries. Amazing views from the glass skywalk and bridge. I would strongly recommend that Guilin and Yangshuo are must see in China. And appreciate you provided the information and tour. Although improvement can be made to ticketing which should be prebooked and paid instead of collecting the tickets on site. Fortunately there were no queues in most of the sights. Can’t imagine the waiting time if we need to pick up tickets at every sight including the cruise. Would have been great if all tickets were online and sent to us before hand like air ticket. I understand in some sights this is not possible cos we are expected to buy the tickets when we are there. Not very convenient, perhaps the tourist organisation can suggest to these sights to ease queues through online bookings and allow visitors to scan their passes upon arrival. Ideally skip the queue. Though this time there is no queue since it is not national holiday.

Only one negative is the hotel in Lijiang which is not considered a boutique hotel but a bed and breakfast type suitable for backpackers and youngsters! We had a tough time climbing up and down foe 3 days in that place!!

Overall the 敦煌，张掖，嘉峪关itinerary n hotels are good. Guide Gary is very professional and passionate about Chinese history (he was previously a middle school history teacher). 西宁 hotel & guide Daniel were good too. Suggestions (1) Chaka lake is very nice but due to flight timings we only spent 30 min at the lake itself. (2) I think if we were to recommend friends, we would ask them to cut the 阳关，玉门关，汉长城 and spend more time in Xining (there is a nice temple near train station) and Chaka lake. (3) You should strongly recommend that guests spend at least 2 hours at Chaka lake itself excluding the traveling (once you reach there, you need to take bus n train to reach the lake, that itself takes almost one hour including waiting for passengers one way). Yesterday just before check out at Xiamen ,  i had already completed a detailed questionnaire form and handed over to Adam.

(1)  How do you like our tour arrangements and are you willing to recommend our service to your friends?

Yes, it was good service from tour coordinator, tour guide and driver. They are all very professional and good people.  I will recommend to friends for sure.  

(2)  Do you have some suggestions for us to improve our service?

The initially proposed 3D2N itinerary is an overkill of Tulou visits.   The original plan was such that we visit Chu Xi on Day 3, but Chu Xi is the furthest (3 hours) from Xiamen, so it doesnt make too much sense cos it would be a mad rush if guests are rushing to fly off on Day 3.    Our tour guide Adam adapted the itinerary, we cut down the more commercialized tulous and he even  included He Keng Tulou which is the place that Hollywood Mulan was filmed in, that was a real treat.   

From our experiences, if we fly into Xiamen by 9am, we would have 2 full days of Tulou visits, which is more than sufficient.  First nite at HeRongZhuang was a good experience, the staff are very hospitable and room was very nice.   Second nite at Prince Hotel there was power failure, and after being in the dark for 4 hours, we decided to check out and drove to Xiamen.  We were on the road from 9.30pm to 12 midnight.  I think it would be better if the itinerary just have first nite in Tulou and second nite in Xiamen, with Day 3 in Xiamen.  

(3)  If you want to do travel again in China, would you like to use our service again?

Good news is in China the epidemic is under control. However due to continue epidemic tourism business are badly affected for indefinite period.

We enjoy the Harbin trip very much especially the 雪乡和亚布利。 It was totally an unexpected experiences for all of us.

Our challenges are the super cool weather and the taste of the 东北菜. Staying at Snow Village and sleeping on kang炕bed   

is like sleeping over a stove. You will feel warmer and warmer as you lay on your back. Egg is very previous and you are given only one egg with an exchange of a breakfast voucher. 哈哈哈太冷鸡不生蛋。

May I suggest to give more information and price expectation on optional activities such as Yangcao mountain, snow tubing, skiing

before departure for customer to plan and make decision. Overall, we paid extra 1380rmb per person to enjoy the optional activities

which was not budgeted into the trip.

Your services and prompt response is excellent and surely I will recommend you & your company to my friends & family.

Hopefully I will make another trip to China soon.

Thanks for organising our 8 day Yunnan tour in Dec 2019. We were impressed with your prompt response, efficient service in planning the itinerary and acceding to all of our requests.

The itinerary was very well thought out and was at an easy pace. The 2 drivers we had (Mr Zheng in Kunming and Mr Yu for the rest of the journey) were very friendly and most importantly, safe drivers.

The tour guides were also very informative and spoke English well. Special mention goes to:

1) Mr Wang in Kunming, who guided us all the way from hotel pickup to go through customs and check in at the high speed rail. He even kept my Swiss Army Knife for me when I couldn't bring it onboard the train and returned to me the moment we arrived back in Kunming. He also helped us take very nice pictures while we were in the Stone Forest.

2) Alice in Dali was a breath of fresh air, she was always smiling, high-spirited and checking with us if we wanted to do certain activities she'd planned for us. We really appreciate the initiative taken to show us how the locals live and work (sipping tea, embroidery school, Dai dye, local market etc). She was genuine, honest, open and was very informative and knowledgeable in the local culture and the historical facts about the places we'd visited. 

3) Aten in Shangri-La was very friendly, well-spoken and communicated very well in English about the places of interest we'd visited. He was thoughtful, attentive and ensured that we were safe every step of the way as it had snowed and the floors were slippery at certain places. We really appreciated that he executed the itinerary there seamlessly without rushing through anything. We particularly enjoyed the 3km walk in the Potatso National Park, even though the lake was iced over, it was one of the most beautiful snowscapes we've seen and Aten kept it interesting with stories and facts about the place.

4) Mr Yu, our driver for Dali, Lijiang and Shangri-La was one of the best drivers we've had. He drove well regarding safety as the most important. He was also very friendly and kind and had our best interests at heart: one day in Shangri-La, he noted we were tired the day before and he actually suggested that we start the following day later so we could rest. That touched our hearts :)

All in all, we had a wonderful time in Yunnan and of the many provinces we've visited so far, this is now our favourite. We will visit again.

Hotel arrangement and meals are great. During our return trip from Xian to Beijing, the guide (another Mark) and driver have sent us to Hotel Park Royal. I believed the record was not updated to Novatel Peace. After clarification, they have sent us to Novatel Peace. 

2. How’s the tour guides’ service and drivers?

All are excellence. They are very patience and understanding to our needs. For Xian, we have the same driver and guide throughout. This made us very comfortable as we meet the same person throughout our stay with the rapport already build up. 

For Beijing, we have different drivers on some days. We understand it is not easy to have the same drivers throughout due to their daily routines. 

3. What do you think of your travel consultant’s service?

Travel consultant's service, Mark Shen is excellence. He is extremely helpful and go an extra mile as always to meet our request. We are very thankful to have him to serve us. 

4. Will you recommend our office to people around you?

Certainly a Yes.

Overall, the tour experience was great and the itinerary was closely complied with. 

We were greeted promptly by the local guides in both Beijing and Xian at the very moment we stepped out of the customs.  Immediately, we were brought to our hotel in comfortable vans driven by friendly and safe-minded drivers. 

Sunworld Hotel in Beijing is slightly below expectation as the room is small for 3 of us. Pillows were flat and curtains old. It is however well located within walking distance to Wang Fu Jing and surrounded by convenience stores and shops.

Places of interests in Beijing like the Gu Gong and Great Wall are still as charming as 18 years ago. Public toilets at these places still have a lot of room for improvement though. 

Kai, our local guide at Beijing is professional and knowledgeable. He speaks both Mandarin and English well. His sharing of China history was engaging as he would assess us now and then with Q&A:). He also went the extra miles to send us to the bullet train cabin/ seats and gave us very detailed instruction on when to get OFF the train to ensure we do not miss the stop.

Bullet train from Beijing to Xian is a good alternative to internal flight as the cabins are clean and quiet. Can observe the development of different cities along the way too. 

The Titan Hotel in Xian is much bigger and comfortable. It has also engaged robot to assist in housekeeping. The breakfast has a wider spread than that in Beijing too. 

The Terracotta Army in Xian is eye opening. Our guide at Xian is knowledgeable and explains clearly too. Many new stores and eateries are located outside the TA museum. Would suggest to allocate more time at this commercial site as we were rushing to go for our lunch which was located within a nice resort with 5-star toilets.

Meals at Xian are less exciting and appealing due to our non-spicy and no beef nor mutton diet. Also, most if not all of the meat dishes are served cold including braised trotters. Chinese food in Singapore is served warm/ hot unless otherwise indicated. 

On hindsight, 1-night stay in Xian is sufficient, with a full-day visit to the Terracotta Army Museum, and shopping at the commercial site outside the Museum. Foot and body massage outlets are commonly found in Xian with good services. Will recommend a relaxing massage to wrap up the day!

Our guide’s service was good at jiuzhaigou and huanglong though we did expected more walking at jiuzhaigou instead of taking the bus on and off all the time.  Tickets could be bought beforehand as well at jiuzhaigou so less waiting? But apart from that, everything was smooth sailing. Thanks!

I have submitted my review to Trip Advisor. I have to apologize for the late reply as I was very busy last few days. 

1. How's the tour arrangement? And your travel consultant's service?

Overall it was an excellent arrangement by Mark who meticulously planned every detail and religiously monitoring our schedule throughout and had it executed by the caring and helpful guide Carrie. 

2. How's the hotel and meals?

The hotel in Zhangjiajie was good as it is expected of Pullman 's branding. The one in Fenghuang is not as good but Mark had forewarned me so I was prepared that the accommodation and breakfast would not be good. The meals are alright as Carrie had given us the liberty and good recommendation to order the food that suits our pallet as we cannot take spicy ones. Good advice by Mark and well executed by Carrie.

3. What do you think of our guides and drivers?

The drivers are all good and pleasant especially Mr. Du who was careful and polite .He drove at the right speed and I was impressed by his driving skill on a wet day. 

We would like to place on record our heartfelt thanks to Mark and the team in Chengdu, Yichang & Zhangjiajie.

Wish to thank you for arranging the Yangtze River Cruise, hotel in Yichang and the high-speed rail tickets back to Chongqing.

The crew in the Yangtze Gold 8 Cruise ship were also very welcoming and helpful.

We had a lovely time on the Yangtze River, especially in viewing the three gorges and the lesser three gorges.  The views were splendid.

Would like to update you that the Wanda Orange hotel goes by a different name now and somehow the reception took some time to find our booking.

However, once that was sorted out, everything was fine. We had a good view from our room window.

We were pleasantly surprised with the development and lights in Yichang city too and the lively activities along the riverside park in the evening and morning.

The high-speed train was punctual and the ride was also very smooth.

Yes, the cruise on the Victoria Katarina went very well. The boat was well maintained (looked in better condition than the Yangtze Gold 5, & 6), the food was more than adequate,  the tours arrangements went smoothly.

Lastly, the cruise was enjoyable as we intended to have a relaxing trip, and the food was good.

1. Overall I am satisfied with the arrangement on buying the tickets for us. Especially your service I am rather please. You are responsive and thoughtful to remind us on the timing and the docking berth of the ship on the day of our trip. However the whole trip I rate it as fair partly due to the heavy fog and hazy condition, which we did not see the best of three gorges. I also wrote my comment on TripAdvisor. You can also take a look.
2. Yes, I’m willing to recommend your service.

4. Yes. I am thinking to travel to Tibet again may be a few years time. Will definitely look for you to see what you can offer.

Qingdao is truly a lovely place! I particularly enjoyed the stroll along the esplanade on late Monday afternoon at our own pace. Along the way, we stumbled upon some good dining places. We had a delicious seafood dinner there.

I was also under the impression that we have the use of the transport at our disposal like our most successful to ZJJ recently.  

Thank you for your follow up on this. I hope to continue using China Discovery for all my future trips to China.

Back to work in singapore, feel so tired. It was a great trip in sichuan last week. The scenery is fantastic and the guide is very accommodating. Was expecting jiuzhaigou to be very beautiful like what many singaporeans say but it was just alright and way too crowded and squeezy. In fact i felt that huang long and er mei shan was much nicer and peaceful as there are less people. 

The hotels were great and our favorite is fraser suites whereby we slept very soundly. The guide is very nice and accompanied throughout our hike. The driver is a very cautious and good driver. It was a very pleasant experience as compared to my other private tour to xi'an and luoyang back in november. 

Really appreciate the fact that you called to check on us when we were in Leshan. Your correspondence via email and call was great and recommendable. Really appreciate your help.

Hi Tiger,

In general, Guilin is very scenic and we enjoy the tour very much. We like the tourist spots at Li river, rice terrace, bamboo water rafting, silver rock cave and national park.

The hotels at Shangri-La, Lotus Green and Longji one art hotel are very nice and comfortable. Longi one art hotel is strongly recommended, next to rice terrace field, the views are fantastic.

The bus driver and the tour guide are very professional and knowledgeable. All the tour programme were properly arranged according to the itineraries.

Appreciate very much of your patient and advice on the proposed itineraries. Overall, it was a well organised tour. Hope we can join your company again for future China tour.
