Guangzhou South Railway Station is about 17km to the city center. As the largest and busiest railway station in southern China, it serves several major high speed railways. It is well-equipped with city rail traffic and you can easily get there by metro Line 3, Line 6 and Line 7. Besides, it also offers long distance bus and public bus. Calling a tax is also quite convenient in the railway station.
Xiamen North Railway Station (厦门北站)
Location: Center Nature Village, Houxi Country, Jimei District, Xiamen, Fujian (福建省厦门市集美区后溪镇岩内村埔中央自然村 – 厦门北站)

Xiamen Train Station (厦门站)
Location: No. 900, Xiahe Road, Siming District, Xiamen (厦门市思明区厦禾路900号)

Xiamen Railway Station is closer to the main tourist areas in Xiamen, including Gulangyu Island, Nanputuo Temple, Xiamen Botanical Garden, etc. It’s about 12 km away from the Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, takes about 20 minutes by car.

There are two train stations in Xiamen, Xiamen Railway Station is located in the city center, Xiamen North Railway Station is located in Haicang District, about 20km away from city center. Tourists can take private car, taxi, metro to get around Xiamen, take a ferry to Gulangyu Island and use private drive or public traffic to get to Fujian Tulou in Nanjing and Yongding county.

Guangzhou to Xiamen by Normal Trains

There are 2 normal trains running from Guangzhou to Xiamen during the night. Both depart from 20:00 to 20:30 during the night. The whole journey takes about 11-13 hours. Both trains will arrive at Xiamen North Railway Station in the morning of the next day.
Guangzhou Railway Station (广州站)
Location: No.159, West Huanshi Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou (广州市越秀区环市西路159号)
Distance from City Center: about 4 km/15 minutes’ driving to the city center
Guangzhou Railway Station (广州站) is one of the biggest in the country, also the oldest station in Guangzhou which serves routes that go to / from most of China cities with a relatively slow speed, more stopping stations, cheap ticket fees. Metro lines 2 and 5 have a connection stop here. You can reach the city center by Line 2 for about 25 minutes. And it usually takes about 15-20 minutes by taxi.

Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport is located in Xiamen downtown, about 12~20 kilometers (half an hour or so by car) to those Xiamen ports to catch a ferry to Gulangyu Island. At the airport, you can ride a taxi to get around. In addition, there are also Airport Shuttle Buses for you to travel between the Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 of the airport and the ferry ports (like Lundu Port and Dongdu Port) and train stations (like Xiamen North Railway Station and Xiamen Railway Station), Xiamen University, etc.
Transfer from Xiamen Airport to Nearby Attractions/Destinations
After arrival at Xiamen Airport, you can transfer to Xiamen North Railway Station or Xiamen Train Station to take high speed trains to Nanjing, Wuyishan, Fuzhou, Quanzhou and other cities in Fujian, or take a private car, taxi, airport shuttle bus to travel around Xiamen downtown area, or transfer to ferry to get on Gulangyu Island.
