Food & Dining

Travelers who are on Yangtze 1 cruise ship will enjoy buffet breakfast and lunch, and Chinese sit-down dinner. There are two restaurants, one is the Main Dining Hall which is very large with an area of 340㎡ on deck 1, the other is the VIP Restaurant with an area of 20㎡ on deck 6 for travelers who book suites. It needs supplementary charge for travelers in Standard Cabins want to enjoy in the VIP dining room.

Important Notice:

1. 1. Meals Include & Exclude: Dinner is not arranged on the first night of the embarkation day and the lunch is excluded on the last day of the disembarkation day. Other meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are included onboard.
2. 2. Special Dietary Requirements: For travelers who have special dining requirements, like vegetarian, salt-free, low-carbohydrate, kosher, you can tell your needs to travel consultants when book the cruise with us or tell it to the front desk when check in onboard.
3. 3. Dining Time: usually, onboard Yangtze 1, breakfast starts from 07:00 to 08:00, lunch 12:00 to 13:30, and dinner 19:00 to 20:30. You will have 1 to 1.5 hours, so take your time to enjoy your meal. Travelers can know the detailed dining time by listening to the broadcast, checking the daily itinerary sheet or ask for the staff at front desk.
4. 4. Seat Arrangement: There are 8 to 10 travelers sitting together in a round table arranged according to the nationalities, eating habits and cabins of guests.

Travelers cannot enjoy tap water directly on Yangtze 1 cruise. In the Standard Cabin, there are 1 to 2 bottles of mineral water provided every day and you can drink it for free. Also, tea kettle is available in your cabin that you can use it. In the dining halls, there are some kinds of drinks served during the meals, like cola, sprite, juice, coffee, hot water and other soft drinks and wines.

If you want to taste some beverages and drinks in the leisure time no matter during the day or at night, you can go to the Sun Bar on deck 5, Cigar Bar on deck 5, Multifunctional & Entertainment Bar on deck 4 where offers many kinds of drinks and beverages, like Cocktail, Sparking Wine & Champagne, Gin, Tequila, Bourbon, Canadian Whisky, Rum, Vodka, Coffee, Chinese Spirit, Juicy, Tea & hot drinks and so on. These drinks need some charge that you can know detailed price for each item when get on board.

During the daytime, you will take shore excursions to visit local sites along Yangtze River, including Shibaozhai Pagoda, Shennv Stream (or Shennong Stream) and Three Gorges Dam Site. Besides the excursions, you can spend some time either appreciating the beautiful river scenery in your cabin or on the deck, or taking part in different kinds of cultural programs and recreational activities. If you are interested in, you can follow the Taichi master to play Taichi on the sun deck which is an internal Chinese martial art practiced mainly for health benefits. Attend Chinese calligraphy and painting lesson to appreciate the artists performance and after that you will have a chance to practice for yourself. The other activities include story-telling, Mahjong learning, Yangtze River history and culture lecture to know more Chinese culture and lose yourself in them.

In the evening usually after dinner, travelers will gather at the multifunctional hall to enjoy the night shows performed by the talented crew. The shows include fashion show from different dynasties, singing, dancing, talk show, magic and so on. They will be interesting parties full of fun and laughter.

A welcoming cocktail party and farewell banquet will be hosted on board and you will enjoy state class treatment full of joy and laughter.

Usually, on the second day, the captain will hold a cocktail party to warmly welcome his guests on the Yangtze 1 an travelers will have a chance to communicate with each other and get to known the crew. On the last night during the cruise, the captain and the staff will hold a farewell dinner to say goodbye to the guests and enjoy the happy time together which lasts about 1.5~2 hours.

Dress code for the parties:

The dress code on Yangtze 1 is casual and comfortable. The evening dress code is generally unrestrained. As for the Captain’s Welcome Party and Farewell Dinner, a suite and tie for a man or an evening dress for a woman is not strictly required, but avoiding dressing too casual like jeans, round-neck shirts, shorts, slippers and so on.

From the moment you step aboard Yangtze 1 cruise, the services begin. The staff putting on smiling face await you with great enthusiasm and try to make you feel at home.

Professional River Guide: Yangtze 1 cruise has its own professional river guide. Usually according to the composing of the tourist party, they will arrange 1~2 professional river guides including the languages of English, German, and Chinese. The river guide will gather the passengers to hold a meeting about the journey before the cruise ship navigates. Every day, the guide will inform through the central broadcasting system or bulletin board all the activities arrangement of next day. The river guide will organize the passengers to participate in various activities and introduce the Three Gorges to travelers on sun deck.

Laundry: You can put your clothes in the laundry bag in your cabin and fill the laundry service form or directly call the reception desk. The staff will take them to do laundry (no dry-cleaning) and return to your cabins after ready. The prices are reasonable. (PS: Laundry services are not provided during the first day and the last day of the cruise trip.)

The other service include holding a meeting, photography, Internet & WIFI, shopping, print, swimming, luggage carrying, etc.

To keep a happy mood and a healthy body when stay on Yangtze 1 cruise, you can do some exercise and enjoy some activities during your leisure time. You can do exercise at the gym center (5F), enjoy sauna and foot massage (4F) (please reserve at the front desk). Besides, you can go up on the Sun Deck to enjoy learning Tai Chi with the Tai Chi master every morning to stretch your body and inhale the fresh air along the Yangtze River. If you want to do beauty salon (2F) and nail-painting, you can also get satisfied. The clinic (4F) has professional doctor expert in Chinese and western medicine offering one-to-one 24 hours service.
