Xian Attractions Map - Attractions in & near Xian 2024/2025
Xian is an ancient city in China with many cultural and historical attractions. To help you better plan your tour, here we have provided you with Xian attractions maps that show you both the attractions in and around Xian.
Xian City Attractions Map
The area within the Ancient City Wall used to be the city center of Xian, so many attractions are around this part like the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, Bell Tower, Muslim Quarter, Great Mosque, and Shaanxi History Museum. As a capital city in history, there are also many imperial mausoleums and retreating palaces, which are usually a little far from downtown, such as the Terracotta Warriors, Huaqing Palace, and Hanyangling.
Xian Downtown to Terracotta Warriors and Huaqing Palace
Tourist Bus Line 5 (Bus 306), Bus 307, 914, 915, and Lintong 826 will all make a stop at Bingmayong Station, which is only about 500m from the entrance of Terracotta Warriors. Generally speaking, getting to Terracotta Warriors from Xian downtown by public transportation will need 2-2.5h, and taking a taxi will need about 70min and CNY 120.
As shown in the map, Huaqing Palace is close to Terracotta Warriors, only about 10km and 20 minutes’ drive. The buses mentioned above will all pass Huaqing Palace, too. So you can arrange the two attractions together.

Xian Downtown to Hanyangling
Hanyangling, also called Tomb of Emperor Jingdi, is about 25km from Xian downtown. People can transfer between the two by Tourist Bus Line 4. The bus runs between Xian Public Library (市图书馆), Zhangjiabao (张家堡), Xian City Sports Park (城市运动公园) and Hanyangling. If you start from somewhere near the Ancient City Wall, you need to take Metro Line 2 to get to the library (or any stops along the Tourist Bus Line 4) first and then transfer to the tourist bus, which will need about 1.5h in total. Taking a taxi will cost about CNY 80 and get you there in 1h.
Tips: Hanyangling is about 30 minutes’ drive from Xian Xianyang International Airport (for independent travellers, taxi may be a better choice than bus because you will need several transfers by bus). So if you are reaching or leaving Xian by plane, it is recommended to visit there on your way to/from the airport.

How to Plan a Xi’an Tour
As the ancient capital city for 13 dynasties in China's history, Xi’an has always been a hot tourist destination in China. Terracotta Warriors and Horses buried for more than 2000 years is definitely a must-see. After that, take a stroll or rent a bike on the Ancient City Wall, the largest and best-preserved ancient city wall in China, to enjoy panoramic views of modern Xi’an. Then try some local snacks at the bustling and lively Muslim Quarter. On the next day, you can head to Da Cien Temple and Giant Wild Goose Pagoda to feel the Buddhist culture in Xi’an, then get a deeper understanding of the past of this city in Shaanxi History Museum.
If you are interested in mountain climbing, don’t miss the challenging Mount Huashan which is famous for lofty peaks and steep paths. If you have extra days, you can enrich your China tour by visiting more cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, or retracing the old Silk Road.
