No.1: Jingzhou Ancient City Wall
Location: Jingzhou District, Jingzhou City
Distance to Wuhan: With 1.5-2 hours by high Speed D-train
Jingzhou Ancient City was built in the Spring and Autumn Period, but the majority of extant ancient city wall was constructed in the Ming and Qing Dynasty, and regard as the best preserved ancient city wall in south China.
In China there is an old saying that Guan Yu, a general of Liubei, lost Jingzhou due to negligence. Jingzhou Ancient City witnessed Guan Yu’s Failure, also left many ancient sites and relics relate to this history of the Three Kingdom period for tourists.
There are many ancient gates around, but only the East Gate and North Gate have towers to overlook the ancient city wall style. Also you can rent a bike and cycle around the city wall outside.

No.2: Jingzhou Museum
Location: Jiangling District, Jingzhou City
Distance to Wuhan: With 1.5-2 hours by high Speed D-train
If you want to explore the profound history of Jingzhou, Jingzhou Museum is the best place to go. Opened during 9:30-16:30 from Tuesday to Sunday, there are many relics about Chu Culture, like jades, bamboo slips, weapons, etc. And the highlight of this museum was the intact 2100-year-old male body founded in Chun tombs and some ancient tools beside him, including earrings, spoon, plates, clothing and food.

Location: 38 km northwest of Chibi City
Distance to Wuhan: With 30 minutes by high Speed G-train
Chibi is known for the Red Cliff Battle happened in 208 AD, the Three Kingdoms period, which is the only survived original ancient battlefield. The Chibi Ancient Battle Field witnessed how Zhou Yu defeated Cao Cao by using the fire attack. It was said that the words “chibi” in the wall of south bank was sword by Zhou Yu after winning this battle. Now there are some towers, temples, pavilions and tablet inscriptions to help tourists know that history.
