Autumn from USA worked and lived in Wuhan City in China with her family. She had traveled to many places and never stopped her steps of exploring new sites in China. With the help of Rita from China Discovery, she had planned to spend her winter holiday in Yunnan, a destination with great climate, amazing nature and rich minorities. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances cut her holiday short. As soon as everything returned to normal, Autumn was determined to make up for the lost time, and decided to take her family on a trip to Wudang Mountain, a beautiful mountain range in Hubei Province that was much closer to Wuhan. Rita understood their situation., and helped them create an 4-day itinerary. She commented that "China Discovery helped us plan a great trip to Wudang Mountain (Wudang Shan) in Hubei Province. We went for 3 nights in late December 2022. Rita helped us to plan and book our trip on very short notice." Let's see what they experienced!
Wudang Mountain Natural Scenery
On the first day, Autumn's family embarked a high speed train to Wudangshan Western Railway Station from Wuhan, and the train journey took about 3.5 hours. Their guide Amy waited for them at the exit of the train station and then escorted them to the hotel.
The second day began with a visit to Yuxu Palace at the foot of Wudang Mountain. There were many locals practicing Tai Chi and other martial arts. After getting a sense of local culture, they headed to Wudang Moutan Scenic Area, where they explored sites including Taizi Slope, the Grinding Needle Well, the South Cliff, and the Purple Cloud Palace. They got amazed by the stunning scenery as well as unique culture of each locations. In the afternoon, they had the opportunity to watch Taoist monks chanting in one of the local temples. It was an unforgettable experience, and they were glad they got to witness it firsthand. She shared some beautiful photos with Rita and described that day as wonderful.
Purple Cloud Palace with Architectural and Artistic beauty
The following day was as exciting as the first. They took a cable car to Tianzhu Peak and hiked to the Golden Summit, where the panoramic views were breathtaking. Afterward, they explored the Xiaoyao Valley on foot, a beautiful and serene area that was perfect for hiking and enjoying nature. Then, they visited the Wudang Taoist Medical Training Base, where they learned about traditional Chinese medicine and how it's used to treat various ailments. It was fascinating to learn about this ancient practice and how it's still used today. Their final stop was the Wudang Museum, where they learned about the history and culture of Taoism with Amy's explanations. The exhibits were informative and well-designed, and they left with a deeper appreciation of this ancient religion.
An Interesting Collection Displayed in the Museum
After that days' tour, Autumn spoke very highly of Amy. Because Wudangshan is famous for martial art and Taoist culture, in addition to natural beauty, and Autumn's family can enjoy it so much without Amay's knowledge. She said that "Our tour guide, Amy, was wonderful and met us at the exit of the train station. She was patient, kind, and helpful the entire time. She was knowledgeable about everything, and she even helped us at mealtimes to find foods that the kids would enjoy."
Tianzhu Peak to Golden Summit Scenery
On the last day, the driver picked them up from the hotel and took them to the train station. Although their trip to Yunnan was canceled, they were glad that they got to experience the beauty and culture of Wudang Mountain. They were grateful to China Discovery for their excellent service and to Amy, their wonderful tour guide, who made their trip unforgettable. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, Autumn and her family had a great adventure in the winter of 2022. She also told Rita that, "If we were able to take another trip, we will definitely contact you."
