Sweet Family's Vacation to Oriental China

We received the letter from Jennifer that she and her family were planning to have a trip to China for theiir vacation. They are a family of four (with a 14 years' old son and a 17 years' old daughter). We customized a 11 days' tour for Jennifer and her family according to their interests and demands to explore some of the famous attractions of China in Beijing, Xian, Zhangjiajie and Shanghai, covering natural, cultural, historical and modern landmarks in China. Now let's see what Jennifer wants to share about their memorable 11-day China trip!

Wendy Dan helped us plan our vacation. We added and subtracted from the vacation package. All of our guides were helpful, kind and informative. Mark, our tour guide in Beijing, felt like part of the family. We travelled with our 14 year old son and 17 year old daughter who were not always up for the challenge of the day. Each tour guide was engaging with the kids and helped to accommodate our needs as they unfolded. It was everything we read about and more.

Xian was a wonderful city with a beautiful nightlife for the entire family. Landscape, interactive lit up sidewalk, and a beautiful city park. The park has a rubber track to run, music pumped in and more landscape. Terracotta Warriors was overwhelming with the size of the site. Biking the Ancient City Wall was a must, fun and inexpensive.

Zhangjiajie was amazing and many unexpected parts. There are gardens within the park and monkeys! We spend a long time watching the monkeys swimming in the river. The town was easy to walk and we enjoyed shopping in the local supermarket.

Shanghai is an easy city and very modern. The Bund at night is a must. Seeing the sun set with the new Shanghai on one side of the river and the old on the other was unforgettable.

Highly recommend China discovery and a trip to China. Our whole family loved it. Our travel consultant, Wendy Dan worked with over many months to get our vacation as we wished. She was able to get back to us within a 12 hour period.

We loved every part of our tour. The hotels, activities, meals and company were exceptional. We are a family of four (14 and 17 year olds). Our guides were flexible if we needed more or less time. They helped us to pick our meals at night, draw maps to local restaurants. They translated for us when we needed help in shopping, ordering food and other situations. They were full of interesting age appropriate information for each of our family members.

The suggestions that I gave to China Discovery was to provide a street map as I like to explore. The other tip I would suggest so to be aware that WeChat pay is the most preferred method of payment. We had cash which works but I was planning on Visa which was not taken at a few restaurants.
