Get from Jiuzhaigou National Park to Huanglong National Park 2024

Transfer Between Jiuzhaigou National Park and Huanglong National Park

Jiuzhaigou National Park to Huanglong National Park Transportation Map

There is a daily bus to Huanglong at jiuzhaigoukou bus station (Jiutong Bus Station). Generally, it leaves around 7 am and the one-way ticket fare is about CNY 40 per person and the duration is about 2.5 to 3 hours. Since Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong are also very popular among domestic tourist, you may need to book the tickets at least two days in advance. The bus will leave Huanglong at 15:00 pm and get back to Jiuzhaigou. It will take about 4 or 5 hours to visit Huanglong. Therefore, to get on the back on time, you’d better to take the cable car to climb the mountain in Huanglong Park; otherwise you may miss the only returning bus.

Because the bus from Jiuzhaigou to Huanglong is very limited and taking a taxi costs a lot (at least CNY 400 per car) for the long driving time and long distance, many people choose to charter a bus/car to Huanglong scenic spot. However, There are some potential safety risks on a chartered vehicle, and it is not recommended for independent travellers to charter a car by yourself or with strangers.

How to Plan Your Jiuzhaigou Huanglong Tour

Travelers usually spend one or two days in Jiuzhaigou Valley, and explore Huanglong Valley in a half day, excluding the arrival and departure days. Most travelers transfer to Jiuzhaigou from Chengdu by flight or driving. Some other cities also have flights to Jiuzhaigou, such as Beijing, Chongqing, etc. After arrival, spend a half day to tour the Huanglong Valley, and another full day to visit Jiuzhaigou. If you want to take a walking or photography tour, we recommend spend one more day.

Besides Jiuzhaigou and some other attractions around it such as Huanglong, Songpan, Mounigou, and Ruoergai, you can also travel Jiuzhaigou with other hot destinations in Sichuan, such as Chengdu, Mount Emei, Leshan Giant Buddha, etc.

Road status from HuanglongJiuZhai station to Huanglong and JiuzhaiGou scenic areas

Dear kind sirs, many thanks for your many useful information. i would like to visit both of those scenic areas but am concerned about the road conditions. are these well built out multi-lane highways? or are these unsecured roads along precipitous cliffs and hangs at great altitude as they are common in Sichuan. many thanks for your help and descriptions.

The road between Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong is a well-paved two-lane road, but it can be a bit winding. There are several ups and downs along the hillside, so it is best to have an experienced driver at the wheel.
