Transfer Between Tianjin Railway Stations and Tianjin Port 2024

There are more than 7 railway stations in Tianjin. Among them, Tianjin Railway Station (Tianjin East Railway Station), Tianjin South Railway Station, Tianjin West Railway Station are mainly located in the west area of Tianjin City, serving most of the passengers and visitors from other cities of China, while Binhai Railway Station is newly built high speed train station in Binhai District, in which Tianjin port is located, and it is the nearest main station to Tianjin Port. Besides getting to Tianjin from the 4 major railway station mentioned, there are also other railway stations such as Tanggu Railway Station and Binhai West Railway Station with multiple arrivals of the inter-city trains. Though these train stations do not operate long-distance trains, they assist the other 4 major trains transferring the passengers to the east border area of Tianjin.

Tianjin Railway Station (天津站 Pinyin: tiān jīn zhàn), also known as Tianjin East Railway Station, is located right in the downtown area (Location: #1, Xinwei Road, Hebei District, Tianjin 天津市河北区新纬路1号) and about 19km to Tianjin Binhai International Airport (about 40min by car), 70km to Tianjin Port (about 1.5h by car). It mainly serves Beijing-Tianjin trains, Tianjin-Qinhuangdao trains and Tianjin-Shanhaiguan trains.

You can take subway line 9 (6:00-22:30) from the Railway Station and get off at Exit A3 of Citizen Square Station (市民广场 Pinyin: shì mín guǎng chǎng). After getting out of the subway station, you may need walk around 400m passing by a petrol station along Xincheng West Road (新城西路) and the 513 bus station is right next to the west gate of Citizen Square. Take Bus 513 (6:00-18:00) there and get off at Dongjiang Cruise Home Port (东疆邮轮母港 Pinyin: dōng jiāng yóu lún mǔ gǎng), which is also the last stop of Bus 513. The whole duration will be at least 2 hours.

Located at Liujing Road, Xiqing District, Tianjin (天津市西青区柳静路), Tianjin South Railway Station (天津南站 Pinyin: tiān jīn nán zhàn) is even farther to Tianjin Port, and it is about 100km to Tianjin Port (about 2h by car), 21km to the downtown area, 43km to the airport. It mainly serves Beijing-Shanghai high speed trains.

You can take subway line 3 from Tianjin South Railway Station (天津南站) to Tianjin Railway Station (天津站) and then transfer to subway line 9 and get off at Citizen Square (市民广场 Pinyin: shì mín guǎng chǎng). Later, take bus 513 around the west gate of Citizen Square and get off the bus at Dongjiang Cruise Home Port (东疆邮轮母港 Pinyin: dōng jiāng yóu lún mǔ gǎng). The whole duration will be about 3 hours.

Tianjin West Railway Station (天津西站 Pinyin: tiān jīn xī zhàn) is at #1, Xizhan Front Street, Hongqiao District, Tianjin City (天津市红桥区西站前街1号), about 80km to Tianjin Port (about 1.5h by car), 8km to the downtown area and 26km to the airport. It mainly operates Beijing-Tianjin Trains, Beijing-Shanghai Trains, Tianjin-Baoding Trains, Tianjin-Qinhuangdao Trains, Tianjin-Shanghai Trains.

From Tianjin West Railway Station to Tianjin Port, you can take subway line 1 at the railway station and transfer to subway line 2 at West South Corner Station (西南角 Pinyin: xī nán jiǎo), then taking subway line 2 to Tianjin Station (天津站 Pinyin:) and transfer to Line 9 and get off at Citizen Square (市民广场 Pinyin: shì mín guǎng chǎng). After getting out from the subway station, you need to walk around 400m to take Bus 513 and finally get off the bus at Dongjiang Cruise Home Port (东疆邮轮母港 Pinyin: dōng jiāng yóu lún mǔ gǎng).The whole duration will be about 2.5 hours.

Binhai Railway Station (滨海站 Pinyin: bīn hǎi zhàn), also known as Yujiabao Railway Station (于家堡站 Pinyin: yú jiā bǎo zhàn ) is the nearest station to Tianjin Port, located at Xingang Rd, Binhai District (天津市滨海新区新港路). It is about 26km to Tianjin Port (about 40min by car), 46km to the downtown area, and 43km to the airport. It mainly serves Beijing-Tianjin Trains, Beijing-Shanghai Trains, Beijing-Shanghai trains, Beijing-Qinhuangdao trains.

You can always take a taxi to Tianjin Port (Tianjin International Cruise Home Port 天津国际邮轮母港), which takes about 40min. Besides taxi, you can get there by bus with about 1 hour and there is direct Bus 513 departing outside the West Entrance of Binhai High Speed Railway Station (高铁滨海站 Pinyin: gāo tiě bīn hǎi zhàn) to Tianjin Port, and the last bus stop is where you should get off to the port.

Besides the major railway stations, there are also train stations serving the inter-city trains, such as Tanggu Railway Station (塘沽站 Pinyin: táng gū zhàn) and Binhai West Railway Station (滨海西站 Pinyin: bīn hǎi xī zhàn), which are much closer than the major train stations around downtown area.

Tanggu Railway Station to Tianjin Port (Tianjin Cruise Port)

Tanggu Railway Station (塘沽站 Pinyin: táng gū zhàn) is about 30km from Tianjin Port, by car it only takes 45 minutes (about CNY 90 by taxi), but by bus you will need about 2 hours. You can take Bus 503, 101 or 518 and transfer to Bus 513 and get to Tianin Port. There are over 20 daily high speed trains from Beijing South Railway Station to Tianjin Railway Station and Tanggu Railway Station, and finally reach Binhai Railway Station.

Binhai West Railway Station to Tianjin Port (Tianjin Cruise Port)

Binhai West Railway Station (滨海西站 Pinyin: bīn hǎi xī zhàn) is about 20km from Tianjin Port, and it takes only about 40min by car. You can also choose to get there by bus, taking Bus 934 and then transferring to Bus 513 to the last stop. Connected with Tianjin West Railway Station, Binhai West Railway Station host more than 17 high speed bullet trains to Qinhuangdao.

It usually needs two or three days to cover the highlights of Tianjin. You can spend one day visiting North Jiefang Road Financial Street (the “Wall Street in the East”), Five Great Avenues (Wudadao Area), and Jingyuan Garden which is the former residence of the Last Emperor of Qing Dynasty – Puyi. Then spend another day exploring the most eye-catching building in Tianjin - Porcelain House (China House), Shi Family Courtyard, a large and well-kept civil residence with unique features of Qing Dynasty in north China, and Tianjin Ancient Culture Street, where you can enjoy the special architectural styles, take folk crafts, and taste the delicious local snacks. At night, you can try a relaxing cruise (available from April to November) trip on Haihe River to appreciate the beautiful cityscape of Tianjin. If you are a hiking lover, the ancient and steep Huangyaguan Section of the Great Wall is highly recommended to be added to your itinerary.
