The tour guides were exceptional. We were able to provide the names of the places we wanted to visit and what we wanted to see and they did the rest. The travel to all the different locations were seamless and the guides dropped us off to transfer to the next location and the new guides were waiting for us at the next location. They have suggested tours, but we opted to add places and take out places that we’d already seen from the previous tours. We love China and it’s people!

We are happy with China Discovery having April Zou as our travel consultant who is understanding and flexible to our changes to the itinerary, prompt response to our emails and making sure pickups at all arrival points. With her flexibility to swap the itinerary, we get to capture the beautiful views of the main highlights at the Avatar Mountains and Huangshi Village on our last days instead of visiting them on the first few days. April has the personal touch to arrange a birthday cake to celebrate at a dinner for one member from our group that falls during the tour dates. :)

Bree is a 5-star guide that can communicate well with us in English and Mandarin. We could only vouch that she is a responsible guide eg. She led us all the way to the Red Cloud Summit at Fanjingshan despite unfavourable weather conditions on that day with strong winds and heavy fog because she was concerned for our safety as it was wet and foggy. We truly appreciate her kind effort to take good care of us from the start by greeting us at the train station in her Miao traditional outfit + headwear and having a neat appearance throughout the trip. Knowing upfront that we could not take too spicy food, showing us the best viewpoints to take good photo shots, helping us to take many nice group photos and arranging us to leave the hotel early for those days when big crowds are expected at the Avatar and Tianmen Mountains. We greatly appreciate that she walked the extra miles for our group of 7 that we are comfortable and safe throughout the entire trip.

There are two drivers swapping on certain days. There is flexibility that at one shopping night, the driver fetched us back to the hotel. The only setback my friends brought up was that the comfortable vehicle that fetched us on the first 3 days was swapped to another vehicle (which is not so comfortable) especially on the long drive from Fenghuang to Wulingyuan.

Overall, we are happy with the program that is well spaced out to see most of the beautiful sights of all the attractions listed in the itinerary. Everyone came back with beautiful memories and travel experiences of the majestic China! Thank you for accommodating us to a wonderful and smooth holiday tour. Highly recommended!

Our group of 8 seniors have just finished a wonderful 13-day private tour to Guizhou and Guilin arranged by Tracy. From the first email, Tracy had shown her willingness to help. She had been courteous and efficient. All my requests were attended promptly. Sceneries in both Guizhou and Guilin are spectacular. Everything was well arranged. The guides and drivers in both Guizhou and Guilin were caring. Guilin guide Kenny was particularly knowledgeable. It was a wonderful and memorable trip and we all enjoyed the tour. We will book with China Discovery again and have no hesitation to recommend China Discovery to anyone who is interested in traveling in China.

In May, a friend and I visited China. And China Discovery organized an amazing trip for us! It was definitively one of the best trips we've ever had.

We've spent a total of 3 weeks in China, with 1 week around Beijing, one week around Zhangjiajie and 1 week in Sichuan. What I really appreciated was that we could help to shape up the itinerary to our own liking. On their website they have fast amounts of information about the different regions and sights in China, so I was easily able to identify the places to go to. Evelyn helped me to connect them together in a coherent and single trip!

Furthermore, this also means that China Discovery can bring you to some of the places that other tour agencies might skip. We've for example visited the great wall without any other tourists at Jinshanling (tip!), Visited amazing temples in Chengde, climbed Fanjingshan and went to the beautiful lakes and falls of Jiuzhaigou!

Also during the trip the service was great. Evelyn ensured we got great hotels in all of our destinations. All of the hotels were around the 4+ star segment with comfortable beds and good breakfasts.

During the trips we were supported by local drivers and guides. They are obviously most knowledgeable about the sights in their own city and region! Each and every guide was very friendly and had great control over the English language. They were also very willing to accomodate our wishes and make changes when requested. For example, we decided to visit several impressive shows during our trip that were not in the original itinerary.

What was also very convenient is that these guides came to pick us up and drop us off at the airports or stations where we arrived or were departing to a new destination. The great organization really helped us to destress and focus on visiting the beautiful nature and history that China has to offer.

Once again, this was one of the best trips we've ever had. I can highly recommend China Discovery and Evelyn!

We were a group of 14 pax on tour from 12 -25 May. Itinerary was more or less planned by travel consultant Mr Jack Li. He was efficient in planning out the routes and scenic spots to visit in Yunnan, Lijiang, Guiyang, Puer etc. Hotels offered were within our expectations of 3-4 star accommodation. Food that was included in the itinerary was good. Overall, we are satisfied and would not hesitate to recommend China Discovery and Mr Jack Li to anyone seeking a professional team to manage their private tours.

Zhangjaijie and Miao Villages

The places visited are beatiful , the tour very well organized , the guides Delia and Vicky are very good and very nice . It was a 100% sucess . China is a beatiful country to visit . Im very happy with the free VISA . I need to mention that my return flight from Guiyang back to Beijing was canceled and Rita has solved the issue in less than 15 minutes . Booked another flight , arranged with the hotel a late checkout and advised the driver.

We found China Discovery online and trusted them thanks to the beautiful reviews they got. Now I can confirm that they are absolutely fantastic and helpful! A special thank to Zeva that was very kind and helped us before the departure for all the organization and suggestions. The trip was perfectly customized according to our needs, we had some difficult request (as we asked to see the fishing with cormorants in Guilin) and she perfectly planned everything. Also all the local guides and drivers were very kind and helpful. During our last day we had the flight at midnight and asked to the last guide to bring us to have dinner before going to the airport and they found a special restaurant for us.

We went on a 12 day tour of Guizhou and Guilin. Our tour was organized by China Discovery with the help of Jack Li, their Travel Consultant. It was a wonderful experience. Interestingly, while on our tour, we met many small groups, whose trip was also organized by China Discovery! We visited and experienced the abode and wonderful culture of the minority groups in Guizhou and marvelled at the golden rice terraces of Longji in Guilin, not forgetting also the rivercruise to Yangshuo, Guilin. We capped off our experience with Zhang Yi-Mou's Impression Liu San Jie. It was a memorable trip for all of us.

We are 9 friends who had travelled to China with China Discovery this summer and we had a really fantastic, custom-made private trip going to Beijing, Zhangjiajie, Chengdu, Shangri la, Dali, Ethnic Minorities of Guangxi, Kunming and Guilin. As we expected, we obtain so many amazing experiences and memories. All our tour guides and drivers were excellent, helping us all the time to make our journey comfortable and easy without any troubles.

Especially, I should mention Tracy, our coordinator at the agency, who had organised everything perfect and was from the earliest planning and through all the trip very helpful and friendly and we felt that someone really care about us by giving us assistance and services when we have got problems to solve! I was searching for a tour company to organize our trip to Guizhou in June. Reviews about this company on Tripadvisor were pretty good so I tried it. They didn't disappoint me. First of all, they (my contact is Wing Zeng) can communicate with me in English. Second, their response was quick and to the point. The tour guide and driver apparently are not their own staff but this is not a problem. The guide can speak English although we talk to her in Mandarin. The driver is very nice too. We only asked for 4 star hotels so wouldn't expect too much. Overall experience with this company is good. Try this company if you don't know any good one in China.

We booked a 10-day customized tour of Guizhou and Yunnan and we couldn't be happier with the results. The tour guides were very knowledgeable about the various places we went and explained the information clearly. They went out of their way to be helpful. The tour itself was fantastic. It was well organized so that we visited all of the places that were on our list. The Hotels booked for us were first class. The communication from China Discovery was excellent. Overall, we would highly recommend China Discovery, and we will be using them again for any future tours we plan

We are three adults who went to southeast Guizhou province in April 2022. There were little Covid-related restrictions and no other tourists! It is the perfect place to escape the city. The scenery was breathtaking- rice terraces, mountains and valleys, rivers, and flowers.

Our guide and driver were excellent at transporting us through the mountains and showing us all of the unique aspects of Dong and Miao minority culture. They found the best food for us to eat, including fish in sour soup made by a local villager. All of the hotels were good, and to be expected for staying outside of "westernized" cities. The villages were so interesting, and all activities were well-planned and suited to our interests.

China Discovery representatives (consultant, driver, and guide) were all friendly, professional, knowledgeable and flexible as Covid restrictions changed a few of our original plans.

If you are considering traveling with China Discovery, don't hesitate!

Riley organized this trip for me. it was an unforgettable experience with a great guide (Bill Zhang China). I could see wonderful scenaries of the wooden villages surrounded by rice fields, observe the daily life and tradition of its habitants, and try local cuisine. The guide knew everything about the tradition and culture. A very well organized trip!
