There are two terminals in Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. They are about 800m away. You can either walk (about 10min) or take metro line 10 to transfer between them.

Terminal 1

Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport Location & Transfer

Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is located in the southwest of Chengdu, about 19 kilometers away from Tianfu Square - Chengdu center. The airport is connected with downtown through highway which takes about 40 minutes by taxi. You can also take a metro to get there but you may need several transfers and about 50 minutes. Intercity High Speed Train

Chengdu-Mianyang-Leshan intercity railway has set up station at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport that travelers can take this intercity high speed train to Chengdu East Railway Station, Chengdu South Railway Station, Leshan, Emeishan, Guanghan, Jiangyou, Mianyang, Deyang, Pengshan, Meishan, Jiajiang, etc.

Travelers can take C trains from Shuangliu Airport to visit Leshan Giant Buddha, Mount Emei, Sanxingdui Museum, Deyang Confucius Temple and the transfer will only need about 1 hour.

Departure Procedure

Domestic Departures

• Check-in: find check-in counter via flight information display system or terminal guide sign;
• Security-check: Please prepare your boarding pass, valid certificate for security check;
• Boarding: after security check, you can go to the corresponding lounge in accordance with the boarding gate indicated on your boarding pass.

International Departures

Check-in Time

The closing time for check-in domestic flight will be adjusted from 30 minutes before departure to 45 minutes before departure from October 25, 2015. Please arrange your time properly to catch your flight.

Connecting flights in Chengdu

Hi

We are uk citizens flying to Singapore from Paris CDG via Chengdu airport. We have wait at Chengdu of 6 hours , we are flying with Air china , do we need a visa ? do we follow procedure outlined in filling in Arrival card and then apply for Visa on arrival ?

Can I use 24-hour Visa-free transit on a Southern China flight from Amsterdam to Auckland with a first transit in Chengdu, then a connecting flight to Guangzhou where I board on a flight to Auckland?

Hi Friend,
If you will transit in China within 24 hours with valid passport and tickets to Auckland, it’s doable to make two visa-free transits as long as the whole layover is very short (less than 24 hours). But the final decision is made by immigration officers at the airports.

Greetings from China! As there are still some flights to and off Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport every day, the airport opens to passengers all day. There are many benches and seats in the terminal, and you can stay there free before transiting to your next flight.

We are a family of 6 with a
13 hrs layover at Chendu. Is the airport hotel connected to the airport? If not, as malaysian passport holders, can we enter without the transit visa?

Thank you for the message. At present, there is no hotel in the terminal building of Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. As the 72-hour Visa-free transit policy of China is not available for citizens from Malaysia, you can stay only within the airport before you fly off Chengdu. For the over 10 hours in the airport, you could have a rest on the chairs or in the restaurants, also there are some duty-free shops, so you could enjoy a leisure shopping to kill the time.
