Day 1 Chengdu Pick-up & Arrival at Hailuogou (L)
Pick Up in Chengdu & drive to Moxi Town
Good morning! Today, your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel and then escort you to Hailuogou after 4.5 hours’ driving. They will help you check in at the hotel at Moxi Town near the entrance of Hailuogou Glacier Park. The rest of the day is on your own to discover Moxi Town (1,600m) with old streets and some nice historical relics in Chinese and Western styles!

Day 2 Hailuogou Tour & Hailuogou to Kangding (B)
Visit Hailuogou Glacier Park and drive to Kangding
After breakfast, you will be escorted to Hailuogou Glacier Park to have a classic exploration of this national only one glacier forest park, plus the largest scaled and most beautiful among those at the same latitude.
Take the sightseeing bus from the tourist center to No.3 Camp. During your riding passing No.1 Camp (1,940m) and No.2 Camp (2,580m), you will encounter the enchanting primitive forest at alpine gorge area with over 2,500 kinds of wide plants from subtropical to frigid zone, which is a riot of colors from the lower valley to the more than 3,000 meters high level. Ice glacier begins to show at No.3 Camp (2,940m) for your exciting appreciation, where is the best place to see the “Golden Snow Mountain” in the early morning.
Then, take the cableway from Ganheba to No.4 Camp (3,600m) to admire the must-see awesome Large Icefall with a height difference of 1,100 meters, like abundant liquid silver pouring from the sky or a dazzling white silk scarf hanging on the forest peak. You will not miss the oceanic glacier of various shapes, like lake, tower, bridge, cave, crack, palace, etc. at No.1 Glacier, No.2 Glacier and No.3 Glacier in transparent light green and mysterious grey. You can admire the main peak of Mount Gongga in clear days. Also, you can choose to hike from Ganheba for about 40 minutes to No.1 Glacier viewing deck to enjoy standing on the glacier after a trekking in the lush alpine forest.
After the visiting, take the sightseeing bus back to the entrance. Our guide and driver will escort you for about 2 hours to Kangding City for accommodation and help you check in. Have a good rest!
Wearing Tips: Temperature in Hailuogou is usually lower and changes frequently. In spring, autumn and winter, wear thick sweaters, thick coats, waterproof clothes, scarves, gloves and antiskid hiking shoes. In summer, Long-sleeves coats are suggested for the cold night. Sun block, sunglasses, hat and lip balm are recommended around the year. Rain gear is suggested for there are sometimes rains.
Day 3 Kangding Tour & Kangding to Chengdu (B, L)
Visit Mugecuo Scenic Area and drive back to Chengdu
After breakfast, go to Mugecuo Scenic Area complimented as the “Little Jiuzhai Valley” at the 26 km northeast from Kangding.
Take the sightseeing bus to pass Fangcao Plateau with stunning flowers, grass and horses. Visit Seven Color Lake that is the best view of whole Mugecuo Scenic Area to admire the multicolored crescent lake like a shining colorful diamond changing its rays in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple in the dense forest and meadow. With sometimes chirping of birds, this lake is quite dreamy to calm down your mind. Next, go to Azalea Gorge reputed as the gorgeous belt of Mugecuo to marvel at the primitive natural landscape with always verdant forest, lake, meadow, hot spring, ravine, etc. From mid-April to July, you will be greeted by the 68 species of big and small azalea blossoms that dress the gorge into a beautiful lady. You will not miss the advantageous location to watch the sacred Yala Snow Mountain and Lotus Snow Mountain from a distance. Then, go to Mugecuo Lake (3,700m) which is a praised place to enjoy the peaceful large blue alpine lake mirroring sapphire sky, white snow mountain, green, orange and red forest, etc.
After the visiting, your guide and drive will drive you for about 4.5 hours back to your hotel in Chengdu or the airport/train station for your flights/train home or to the next destination! Tour ends!

The only small mix up was when we arrive in Shanghai, our guide was not aware of our changed air ticket and he waited for us at the wrong gate. But luckily it was in the same airport so he could come over quickly.

For Zhangjiajie, we really enjoyed ourselves most over there. Especially we want to mention our Guide, Tim. He was the best guide we ever had from all our previous trips. He was very kind and patient with my elderly dad too. Very good service and always things even more comfortable by doing little things such as preparing tissues for our meals etc. Throughout our time in ZJJ, we felt like he was a family member. For the itinerary and journey, everything was well thought out too. *always make things even more comfortable.
Hotels in ZJJ are generally very good too.
But Tim really made a big difference in makingke the whole trip even better and enjoyable. He deserves all the praise.
For Shanghai, our Guide Mark was very knowledgeable with a lot of facts and history.
However, just want to point out that our hotel room has strong cigarette smell. But other than that everything else is fine.
