Welcome to Weifang, the Kite Capital of the World! Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by your tour guide in the airport or railway station. A comfortable vehicle with an experienced driver will transfer you directly to your hotel. Your guide will help you check in.
Aftera break in your hotel, have a nice walk in Weifang Kite Square. You could join the locals fly a kite, view all kinds of kite sculptures, and relax yourself in the leisure life.
Arrival Ideas: There are nonstop flights to Weifang from Shanghai (2h), Xian (2h), Guangzhou (2.5h), Chongqing (2h 20m), Dalian (1h 10m), etc. and high speed trains to Weifang from Jinan (1~2h), Qufu (2~3h), Taian (1.5~2.5h), Qingdao (1~1.5h) Beijing (3~3.5h), Shanghai (5.5~6.5h), Xian (7~7.5h), etc.

- Day 2 Weifang International Kite Festival (B, L)

Today, you will spend a full day enjoying Weifang International Kite Festival. After breakfast in your hotel, you travel guide will accompany you to attend the Opening Ceremony of Weifang International Kite Festival. As the festival begins officially, there comes Thousands of People Flying Kites Show. Lots of kite associations, kites enthusiasts and craftsmen flying their own-made unique kites that you cannot see in other places... Just like the old saying goes, everything can fly in Weifang, you can see the kites designed as different shapes and images, including animals, fishes, birds, plants, cartoon figures, vehicles… all magically created things beyond your imaginations. Some designs on kites have a symbolic meaning from Chinese folklore and history. The kites also features in different sizes and the largest one may reach several hundred meters long.
Apart from feasting your eyes on the multi-colored kites in the sky, there will also be some other activities taking place, such as Cosplay Performance and Kite Making Competition. There are high-skilled craftsmen making very amazing kites in the competition. Moreover, there will be a special show exhibiting the national spirit and expressing people's yearning for a better life via kites.
Please Note: The time and form for performances and competitions may change slightly in different years, but you are sure to enjoy most beautiful kites in the first day of Weifang International Kite Festival.

- Day 3 Weifang & Weifang Departure (B, L)

After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick up at your hotel. The first stop of today is Kite Museum, the largest professional kite museum in the world. There are twelve galleries in its two floors, giving interesting exhibits about the kites from China’s ancient past to modern times. Besides, you can also learn much knowledge about the kites in the world. One treasure collected in the museum is a 300-meter-long kite in the shape of a centipede with a dragon's head, which got first place in one Italy International Kite Festival.
Later, you’ll head to Yangjiabu Folk Culture View Garden. Formerly called Yangjiabu Kite Factory, it is the largest kite factory in China. Here, you’ll view the longest kite in the world and appreciate the local lifestyle through the ancient folk customs. After the sightseeing, you will spend around half an hour making a kite and experiencing local folk paintings by yourself under the guidance of a professional craftsman.
The last activity today is visiting Shihu Garden. Built in Ming Dynasty, it is the most famous and only remaining ancient garden in Weifang. Shihu Garden features symmetric and free styles with some similarities of Suzhou Gardens. In its miniature garden, you can appreciate many garden architectures, like pavilion, bridge, lake, rockery, etc.
After the tour, transfer to the airport/train station to catch a flight or train to your next destination. Service ends!
