By Metro + Local Bus

If you have enough time and energy, wanted to try public transport in Chengdu, you can go to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding by metro and local buses. There are six metro lines in Chengdu, only Metro Line 3 head to the direction of Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, however you need to get off at Chengdu Zoo Station (动物园) or Panda Avenue Station (熊猫大道), walk hundreds meters to bus station to transfer to local buses.

A. If you take Metro Line 3 and arrive at Chengdu Zoo (动物园) Station, you should get out from Exit A and walk about 250 meters to get to Metro Chengdu Zoo Bus Station and take Bus 198/198A, and get off at Panda Base Bus Station.

B. If you take Metro Line 3 and get off at Panda Avenue (熊猫大道) Station, walk out from exit A to Metro Panda Avenue Bus Station to take Panda Express Line 3/D025/198/198A and get off at Panda Base Bus Station.

Get from Chengdu Shuangliu Airport to Chengdu Panda Base

Address: Jinchang Road. Shuangliu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, China (中国四川省成都市双流区机场路)

Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is about 16km from Chengdu downtown area, 37km from Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

Dujiangyan Panda Tour

By Private Car or Taxi

If you are looking for a time saving way to get to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding from the airport, it’s suggested to take a taxi which will take about ¥120 and regardless of traffic jam, which will only take about 40 minutes.

By Metro

There is no direct bus line to get to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, and travelers will need to transfer once in the way and this will take about 2 hours and 20 minutes.

You can get on Metro Line 10 at Terminal 2 of Shuangliu International Airport (双流机场2航站楼) Station, transfer to Line 3 at Taipingyuan (太平园) Station, passing 14 or 15 stations get off from Chengdu Zoo (动物园) Station or Panda Avenue (熊猫大道) Station to change to local buses 198/198A.

Get from Chengdu Railway Stations to Chengdu Panda Base

Chengdu East Railway Station is the the largest high speed railway station and the most common used railway station in Chengdu. Currently there are 3 main railway stations including Chengdu North Railway Station (also named Chengdu Railway Station), Chengdu East Railway Station (the largest high speed train station in Chengdu) and Chengdu South Railway Station.

By Panda Express Bus

There is no direct bus lines to get to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding from Chengdu North Railway Station and Chengdu South Railway Station. However if you arrive at Chengdu East Railway Station and plan to go to Chengdu Panda Base directly, you can take Panda Express Bus Line 4 from Chengdu East Railway Station to Panda Base, departure time is from 9:00 to 15:00, shuttle at about 1.5h interval.
