Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport Brief Introduction
Location: No.1 Airport Road, Yaoqiang Town, Licheng District, northeast suburb of Jinan City, Shandong Province; about 380 km (236 mi) from Beijing and 825 km (513mi) from Shanghai; 30 km (18.6 mi) from the city center (Baotu Spring Park and Daming Lake) and 33 km (20.5 mi) from Thousand Buddha Mountain and Jinan Railway Station respectively.
Completed and opened to navigation in 1992, Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport has got several expansions. Now it covers an area of 7,200 acres with 1 terminal and a high throughput of 17, 56 million (date of 2019). It serves as the sole airport and international air gateway in Jinan and one of the main national airports in Eastern China. Tourists can fly to Jinan from Shanghai, Xian, Guangzhou, Datong and other linked cities in China within a few hours and from some Asia countries conveniently.
Domestic Flights of Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport
Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport is well-connected with other regions of China. Currently, there are 31 airline companies operates more than 135 domestic air routes to 84 cities, including Shanghai, Xian, Yantai, Weihai, Dalian, Datong, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hohhot, Harbin, Yichang, Sanya, Urumqi, etc. And, it merely takes about 2 hours flying to Jinan from Shanghai, 3 hours from Guangzhou, 1 hour from Yantai, Weihai and Dalian (Liaoning). According to official airport planning, more terminals and runways will be constructed to prompt Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport as a regional airport hub and a huge provincial airport center.
Please note that there are no flights running between Beijing, Tianjin, Taiyuan, Zhengzhou and Jinan. If you want to travel from Beijing to Jinan, a high speed of 1.5 to 2 hours journey is more recommended than time-consuming connecting flights via Dalian, Xian or Changchun.

Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport Transportation (to Jinan City, Qingdao, Taishan…)
After arrival in Jinan by flight, tourists can directly transfer to the downtown or to major attractions like Baotu Spring Park, Daming Lake, Thousand Buddha Mountain by taxi, airport bus, or travel to Qingdao, Taian, Qufu, Weifang and other destinations in Shandong via private driving or long-distance coach. If you plan to get to other cities by high speed train, you have to transfer to Jinan Railway Station or Jinan West Railway Station.

● By Taxi: Taking a taxi is the most convenient and efficient way to get to downtown and tour Jinan city. You can easily find a cab after walking out of the exit.
● By Airport Shuttle Bus: There are 5 airport shuttle bus lines commuting between the airport and downtown.
● By City Bus: There is Bus No.309 running between the airport and the northeast suburb areas, and shuttle bus (Line 3) running from the airport to Jinan East Railway Station.
● By Rail Transit: Jinan Rail Transit Line 3 under construction will link Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport, Jinan East Railway Station and the downtown area.

By Long-distance Coach: Tourists can also straightly take coach to nearby destinations from the Jinan International Airport Long-distance Terminal. Totally, the bus station sends over 180 buses to about 35 counties and cities in Shandong, including Tai'an (Mount Tai), Zibo, Weifang, Jining, Linyi, Laiwu, Zaozhuang, Binzhou, etc. Please be aware that the coach takes longer time than a private driving or high speed train, which may need extra transfers.
