For thousands of years, many poems and articles have been written about Mount Lu for its grandeur, strangeness, steepness, and elegance.

- Day 1 Mount Lu Arrival & West Route Touring (L)

Welcome to Mount Lu. Upon arrival, your tour guide will meet you at Jiujiang Railway Station, Lushan Railway Station, or Jiujiang Lushan Airport, drive about 45 minutes to the entrance of Mount Lu, and escort you to check in to your hotel in Guling Village which is at the mountaintop.
First, you will visit Ruqin Lake (如琴湖) whose shape resembles a violin. Then, you will walk through Flower Path (花径) dotted with flowers in spring. Head to Immortal Cave (仙人洞), Lv Dongbin (吕洞宾) stone status is awaiting you silently. It’s said that Lv Dongbin became immortal in this place. Passing by Big Tianchi (大天池) and arriving at Dragon Head Cliff (龙首崖), you will witness the steepness and grandeur of Mount Lu. Discover Sanbao Tree (三宝树), which means three precious trees, with one ginkgo tree with the height of over 30 meters and two cryptomeria fortunei with the height of over 40 meters.
Afterward, you can visit two cultural and historical sites in the middle area - Lushan Conference Site (庐山会议旧址) and Meilu Villa (美庐别墅) to have a quick look at Chinese history. At last, go back to Guling Village to stay overnight in Mount Lu.
Arrival Ideas: Jiujiang is only about 2-3 hours flying from major big cities such as Beijing, Xi’an, Chengdu, Shanghai, etc. You can also get to Jiujiang by high-speed train from Beijing (5 hrs), Shanghai (5 hrs), Shenzhen (5 hrs), Guangzhou (5 hrs), Nanchang (1 hr), and so on, or from nearby tourist destinations like Huangshan (2 hrs) and Jingdezhen (1 hr).
Attractions are mostly up in the mountains. You will be escorted to the scenic area up in the mountain by cable cars or sightseeing buses first and then start your hiking trip.

Start your morning by climbing over 3,000 steps to discover the Three Tiled Waterfall (三叠泉). You will have resonance with ancient people who wrote a masterpiece to praise its beauty and elegance. Then proceed to Lushan Botanical Garden (庐山植物园) which is the first scientific botanical garden in China to see the abundance and diversity of plants. Set out to Hanpo Pass (含鄱口), you can overlook Five Old Men Peak (五老峰) to the north and Poyang Lake (鄱阳湖) to the east.
The rest time is to transfer to your next destination. Your Mount Lu adventure ends.
Optional visit to Five Old Men Peak: Five Old Men Peak and Three Tiled Waterfall both need to climb lots of steps which cost energy and time. If you want to visit Five Old Men Peak and your physical condition allows it, please discuss it with your tour guide.
Wearing and Packing Tips: It’s recommended to prepare hiking shoes and enough clothes to keep warm and comfortable as the weather in Mount Lu is very changeable, with a large temperature difference between day and night.
