Huangshan North Railway Station to Yungu Temple and Mercy Pavilion

Both Yungu Temple and Mercy Light Pavilion are located in south gate of the whole Yellow Mountain Scenic Area. Most public buses and private cars cannot reach them directly, and passengers can only get to the transfer centers in Tangkou Town (at the foot of Yellow Mountain) first and then take a park bus to the Yungu Temple and Mercy Light Pavilion.

Huangshan North Railway Station - Tangkou: Huangshan North Railway Station runs frequent buses to transfer centers in Tangkou. During 09:15~17:20, there is 1 bus running from Huangshan Tourism Passenger Transport Hub (at Huangshan North Railway Station) to the transfer centers in Tangkou Town in every 40 minutes usually. The driving takes about 50 minutes. During 07:30~18:00, there is one bus running in opposite direction in every 20~30 minutes as well. Since most of the high speed trains to Huangshan arrive in the afternoon, you are not suggested to the mountain directly. Instead, you can stay in Tangkou Town or Tunxi (Huangshan Downtown) for one night and travel to Yellow Mountain on the next day.

Tangkou - Yungu Temple and Mercy Pavilion: From the transfer centers in Tangkou, there are available buses to Yungu Temple and Mercy Light Pavilion during 06:30 ~ 17:30. The bus departs whenever it’s full. It is an about 20~30 minutes' trip The buses running back to Tangkou from Yungu Temple and Mercy Light Pavilion are also available until the cable car was closed.

Huangshan North Railway Station - Yungu Temple and Mercy Light Pavilion: It is possible to Yungu Tmeple and Mercy Light Pavilion without transfer now. There are 2 buses (departing at 10:15 and 14:00) to Yungu Temple and another 2 buses (deaprting at 10:40 and 14:20) to Mercy Light Pavilion every day. The journey takes about 1.5 hours.

Huangshan North Railway Station to Xiaolingjiao

A few travelers who want an in-depth trekking experience choose to travel Yellow Mountain from Xiaolingjiao. Huangshan Tourism Passenger Transport Hub (at Huangshan North Railway Station) operates one bus to Xiaolingjiao. It departs around 08:10 and takes about 2 hours. After you get to Xiaolingjiao, you need to take a park bus to Diaoqiaoan (钓桥庵) where you can start your hiking. Please note that you have to hike at least 4 ~ 5 hours from Diaoqiaoan to Paiyunxi (排云溪) where you can take the monorail cable car to the nearest hotel on the mountain.

Huangshan North Railway Station to Songguan

There is one daily bus to Songguan at North Gate from Huangshan Tourism Passenger Transport Hub as well. It usually departs around 11:30 and the whole trip takes about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, you can take park bus the cable car station which is 1km away.

If you arrive in Huangshan early, it’s a good idea to visit one of the gorgeous Huizhou ancient villages before traveling to Yellow Mountain on the next day. There are many ancient villages in Yixian County (黟县) and Shexian County (歙县), which are superior to the most beautiful Chinese ink paintings. It is easy to take a bus from Huangshan Tourism Passenger Transport Hub to the charming villages for a big feast of the exquisite buildings with horse-head gables, cream-colored walls and dark tiles. Among them, Hongcun Village and Xidi Village are the two most outstanding historic villages. In addition to its architectural beauty, their lake views are also impressive. It is convenient to transfer to Yellow Mountain from Hongcun and Xidi as well.

From 08:30 to 16:00, there are about 9 buses transferring from Huangshan North Railway Station to Hongcun Village and all the buses also take a stop at Xidi Village. Besides, there are 2 daily buses (departing at 08:30 and 13:50) to Chengkan Village AND 1 daily bus (departing at 13:10) to Tangmo Village
