2 Days Mutianyu and Jinshanling Great Wall Hiking Tour

Full Itinerary Day by day (Can Be Customized)

Day 1 Beijing - Mutianyu Hiking - Jinshanling

After breakfast, you'll drive approximately 1.5 hours to the Mutianyu Great Wall. Your hike will span the entire open area between Watchtowers No. 1 and No. 20. Begin by taking a chairlift cable car to No. 6 Watchtower.

From there, tackle the challenging eastern section, descending from No. 6 to No. 4 and then climbing steeply from No. 4 to No. 1, a journey of about 40 minutes. At No. 1 Watchtower, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the Wall. Continue westward from No. 1 to reach Watchtower No. 20, a hike that takes about 5-6 hours. The steep Great Man Slope between Watchtowers No. 19 and No. 20 is demanding but offers spectacular views. Finally, hike back to No. 14 Watchtower (another 40 minutes) and descend via an enclosed cable car.

Customizable Hiking Route: The entire hike typically takes about 6 hours, but the routes can be customized based on your physical condition. Generally, the round trip of the western section (No. 14 to No. 20 and back) takes 1.5-2 hours, the eastern section (No. 6 to No. 1 and back) also takes about 1.5-2 hours, and the middle section (No. 14 to No. 6) requires 2 - 3 hours. Please inform your travel consultant of your preferences so they can tailor the hike to your needs.

After hiking the Mutianyu Great Wall, drive about 2 hours to Jinshanling. Check in your hotel which is situated near to Jinshanling Great Wall.

Day 2 Jinshanling Hiking - Beijing

After breakfast, you will todays hike on Jinshanling Great Wall, which is about a 2.5-hour drive (130 km). Known as one of the best-preserved and most picturesque sections of the Great Wall, it features in steep mountains and dense, ornate towers. This section is a paradise for hiking enthusiasts and photographers.

From the entrance of the scenic area, you'll walk about 20 minutes to Zhuanduo Tower. Then, start your hike eastward along the undulating wall winding through stunning and remote mountainous terrain. The entire hiking route from Zhuanduokou to Eastern Wuyan Tower typically spans 4-5 hours. During your hike, you’ll encounter several notable towers: General Tower, Small Jinshan Tower, Big Jinshan Tower, Flower Tower, and Corner Tower. Each of these towers features distinctive architectural elements and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and the wall itself. This journey promises not only a physical challenge but also a deeply immersive experience into the grandeur of the Great Wall, providing countless opportunities for stunning photographs and moments of awe.

Customizable Hiking Route: There are multiple exit points for descending the Wall during your hike, allowing for a tailor-made itinerary based on your physical condition. You have the option to take a cable car (additional fee required) to descend from Xiaojinshan Tower, or walk down from the Houchuankou Tower to shorten your route. Feel free to share your preferences with your travel guide during the trip.

After descending the Wall, drive back to Beijing.

1. This price is for one person, based on a group of 2 adults sharing one standard double-bed room in 4-star hotel and traveling with our private tour in low seasons.
2. This price is subject to change according your traveling season, group size, hotel class, change of activities in your itinerary and possible fluctuation of currency exchange rate. If you want a lower price, you can get more people to join you, or use economy class hotels.
3. This price is only valid to March 31, 2025.
4. Reference exchange rate of USD 1=RMB 7.00. The final quote is based on current exchange rate. It may change according to the currency fluctuation, while the RMB quotation will be remained the same.
