Day 1 Guiyang Arrival
Pick up in Guiyang - Transfer to Your Hotel
Welcome to Guiyang, the beautiful “City of Forest” and provincial capital of Guizhou! Upon your arrival, your local guide and driver will meet you at the arrival hall in the airport / train station and escort you to your hotel in Guiyang downtown. The rest of today is on your own to explore the cool Guiyang city!
Guiyang Free Time Idea:
You can go to visit Jiaxiu Pavilion, the symbol of Guiyang city with a history of more than 400 years. Standing on a rock on Nanming River, with two stone bridges linking, the wooden tower of 3 storey and 22.9 meters high is a must-see for visiting Guiyang. It is particularly appealing at sunset and night when the entire quaint tower is outlined clearly and ignited into orange and golden, against the dazzling night view of the surrounding modern skyscrapers of Guiyang city center! Take a nice walk along the river to enjoy the river wind and cityscape of Guiyang!
Also, you can walk to Cuiwei Garden at the south of the bridge to immerse into the rich elegant charm of the over 500 years old traditional classic garden with Jiangnan flavored courtyard and solemn temples. Roam in the garden to meet the quiet halls, pavilions, corridors, gardens, walls, rockeries, ponds, blossoms, bamboo forests, etc. linked harmoniously and interestingly for a traditional Chinese architectural and cultural savory!

Day 2 Guiyang - Anshun (B, L)
Tianlong Tunpu Village - Dragon Palace Scenic Area - Balinghe Bridge - Huangguoshu Town
After breakfast today, be driven about 1~1.5 hours to Tianlong Tunpu Village in Anshun City that is the most famous Tunbao (village fortress) in Southwest Guizhou. With all streets, walls, roofs, etc. are built with stones, this ancient town is also called a stone world for a different architecture admiration. And you will not miss to visit the special Tianlong School constructed also with stones under the emphasis on education of past villagers. Besides the buildings, walk around to savor the unique and traditional Tunbao culture there, which was left from Ming Dynasty more than 600 years ago under the special historical background of stationing troops. Thus, enjoy your moments meeting the local women with typical exquisite traditional blue costumes with fancy embroidery patterns chatting together or sewing, who are mostly the decedents of those armies. Walk along the stone streets to see lots of bright colored masks and enjoy the featured Dixi Opera which is a kind of drama kept from ancient Ming period with performers wearing masks, colorful long skirts and battle banners to encourage armies and frighten enemies.
Then, you’ll hop on one-hour drive to the Dragon Palace Scenic Area. Celebrated as "the world of Karst showcases all in Dragon Palace", this destination features a stunning array of caves, canyons, waterfalls, peaks, cliffs, rivers, stone forests, sinkholes, and underground rivers, all exemplifying the diverse beauty of Karst geology. Upon entering, you'll walk to the impressive Dragon Gate Waterfall, cascading from a height of 50 meters, making it the largest Karst cave waterfall in China. Next, you’ll ascend via elevator to Tianchi Lake, formed by the collapse of a Karst cave roof, recognized as the site with the lowest radiation dose rate in the world. This refreshing spot is rich in negative oxygen ions, promoting health and well-being.
Following this, you’ll board a boat to explore the First Entrance of Dragon Palace. Here, you’ll be captivated by the colorful underground palace adorned with uniquely shaped stalactites, illuminated by stunning natural lighting, resembling the magnificent crystal abode of the holy Dragon King from Chinese legends and myths.
Then, be transferred about 0.5~1 hours to the Balinghe Bridge. It is a marvel of modern engineering and stands as the third highest bridge in the world, soaring to an impressive height of 370 meters and stretching across a total length of 2,237 meters. Beneath the bridge, there is a pedestrian walkway for sightseeing, flanked by majestic gorges on either side, presenting a spectacular panorama. Here, you’ll enjoy a unique experience with afternoon tea beneath the bridge, surrounded by spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
After the visiting, your guide and driver will escort you to the hotel in Huangguoshu Town and help you check in. Have a good rest in Huangguoshu Town!
Day 3 Huangguoshu Waterfall - FAST (B)
Huangguoshu Waterfall - Doupotang Scenic Area - Tianxingqiao Scenic Area - FAST
After breakfast, be driven to Huangguoshu Waterfall, which is the largest waterfall in Asia. You will appreciate different views of the waterfall, especially go behind the waterfall and see how water starts dropping and touch the waterfall.
Visit Doupotang Scenic Area which is one of the shooting places of well-known TV series of one of the four Chinese literature classics - “Pilgrimage to the West”. Walk pleasantly there to appreciate the 105 meters wide and 21 meters high waterfall formed on the more than 100 meters calcific beach bar, which dumps from the top giant pool of 15 thousand square meters wide. As the waterfall always roars strongly during flooding period, it is also named “Roaring Waterfall”.
Next, take the sightseeing vehicle to have a close admiration of Tianxingqiao Scenic Area. Catch all its essences of Karst landscape to know why it is complimented as a fairyland of Karst ecology miniature landscape with different sceneries at different angles and idyllic environment of birds and flowers, water and mountain, forest and cave, etc. Here you will see the stone forest of 0.4 square kilometers grows on water with verdant undershrub and cactus, and meet the Beauty Banyan looking like a beautiful lady with graceful posture.
Then, take the sightseeing vehicle to see the iconic Huangguoshu Waterfall of 77.8 meters high and 101 meters wide. With such magnificent and shocking scenery, it is the No.1 largest waterfall in whole Asia and one of the most famous waterfalls around the world. Walk around the waterfall to admire its distinct landscape from different angles and feel its breathtaking roaring of falling into the 17 meters deep shoal. Besides, you will encounter with more inspiring places including the 134 meters dragon-like Water Curtain Cave behind the waterfall, more than 3,000 excellent bonsai displayed exquisitely in the bonsai garden, and more to feel the grand sight of the large scenic area.
After the visiting, be driven about 2.5~3 hours to Duke Town. Have a good sleep in Duke Town.
Note of lunch today: Please note that there are no dining facilities available within the Huangguoshu Waterfall scenic area. Only small stalls are available, offering a selection of locall snacks. We recommend enjoying your lunch today in the restaurants at the entrance of the tourist area or prepare some food with you!
Day 4 FAST - Libo (B, L)
FAST - Pingtang Sky Bridge - Libo
After breakfast, set out to FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope), the world’s largest single-dish radio telescope. Start your visit at the Astronomy Experience Hall, where you’ll learn about different types of telescopes and explore fascinating planetary models. Next, head to the Astronomy Cinema to watch an immersive film about the universe, getting a deeper understanding of the cosmos. Afterward, take a shuttle bus up to the FAST Observatory Platform, where you can marvel at the massive telescope and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding karst landscape. Don’t miss the Nan Rendong (南仁东) Memorial Hall, dedicated to the life and achievements of Nan Rendong, the “Father of FAST,” who played a pivotal role in bringing this groundbreaking project to life.
Ending the tour, you will be transferred to Libo. After about 40 minutes' driving, you will make a stop along the way to visit the Pingtang Sky Bridge, an architectural marvel that blends seamlessly with the natural beauty of the region. The bridge spans an impressive total length of 2,135 meters, with the main bridge boasting a full width of 30.2 meters. This remarkable structure currently holds the distinction of being the tallest reinforced concrete bridge pylon in China. Standing at the Sky Bridge Scenic Service Area, you can take in the full grandeur of the Pingtang Sky Bridge that stretches gracefully across the lush karst landscape. If you have more time in Sky Bridge Scenic Service Area, you can also visit the Bridge Science Popularization Museum to understand the development of bridges from ancient times to the present, or the Astronomy Science Experience Hall to experience the vastness and mystery of the universe.
Continue to drive about 2 hours to Libo. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Libo Small Seven Hole Scenic Area (Xiaoqikong).
Note: The FAST Scenic Area enforces a no-electronics policy to preserve scientific operations of the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope. Visitors are kindly requested to refrain from bringing electronic devices, including smartphones, cameras, and any other gadgets up to FAST Observatory Platform.
Day 5 Libo - Kaili (B, L)
Small Seven Hole Scenic Area - Xijiang Miao Village
Today, after breakfast, you will visit Small Seven Hole Scenic Area (Xiaoqikong), the core of South China Karst in Libo for the primitive spectacles of hills, stream, forests, caves, lakes and waterfall matching a quaint fairyland in reality! You will catch all the best landscape highlights by leisure walking and scenic sightseeing vehicle. Have a glimpse of the symbolic Small Seven Hole Bridge often showing on the photos of Xiaoqikong. The bridge of 40 meters long and 2.2 meter wide from 1835 AD looks serene and quaint with the verdant ancient trees on both banks. Walk to Laya Waterfall to see the real look of the charming water flying from the mountain like the pure dress of a lady. With cool spray from the waterfall, the dotted Karst stones on water and jade green mountain background, this site is extremely idyllic for the best mood for a trip! Continue to roam along the 1.6 kilometers long 68-layer Waterfall to soak in the poetic natural sonata of 68 levels of diverse styles of waterfalls and drops with the bright flowers, virid forests, chirping of birds, etc. embracing your. Next, continue your exploration of the Xiangshui River with roaring waterfall scenery, luxurious Forest on Water with verdant trees and shrubs growing in water, Nuneijihai Wetland reputed as the kidney of the Earth, Wolong Pond with peaceful bluish green clear water and pearls like waterfall, etc. (Note: Boating at Yuanyang Lake needs extra charge.)
Later, drive 3~4 hours to Xijiang Miao Village, the largest Miao village in China and even in the world. Xijiang is composed of 10 villages, spreading over 50 square kilometers, with about 1,000 families and 6,000 people living here. The village is called a “living museum”, presenting you Miao ethnic culture vividly. There are lots of streets and alleys winding around the village, and quiet clear rivers and Wind and Rain Bridges to cross over. You can try the local Guizhou snacks, browse the many shops or just enjoy a leisurely roam in the village and surrounding scenic areas and learn more about local Miao culture. When night falls, take a sightseeing bus to the viewing platform to catch a panoramic night view of the beautiful Xijiang. The lights of different houses twinkling in the dark make the night bewitching.

Day 6 Xijiang - Guiyang Departure (B, L)
Upper Langde Miao Villagge - Flight / Train off Guiyang
After enjoying your breakfast, start today's excursion to Langde Upper Miao Village, renowned as "the Hometown of Chinese Folk Song and Dance Art," located approximately 28 kilometers away from Kaili. This charming village offers a refreshing escape from bustling crowds, embracing a tranquil natural ambiance while welcoming visitors with open arms and showcasing its rich cultural heritage. Upon reaching the village, you will be greeted with genuine warmth through a traditional welcome ceremony with the lovely ladies and girls, elegantly adorned in traditional Miao costumes offering "block-the-way" wine. Following the convivial toasts, immerse yourself further in the vibrant atmosphere as you witness an enthralling singing and dancing performance at the Lusheng Ground. Here, the talented men of the village will skillfully play the Lusheng, a traditional musical instrument, while the graceful ladies showcase their artistry through mesmerizing dances. Should you wish, feel free to join in the dance. To enrich your experience, you can enjoy the Cultural Program which usually includes catching fish in the field, picking fresh vegetable in the farm and learning to make embroidery. After the tour, get back to Guiyang and be escorted to the airport / train station for your flight / train for your next destination or home! Service Ends!
