No.1 Miao Villages around Kaili

Location: 195 km east of Guiyang city

Datang Short Skirt Miao Village - you can appreciate the traditional Miao women’s short skirt and their waterproof granaries there.
Xijiang Miao Village – the largest Miao village in Asian, which consists of more than 10 naturally formed villages by nearly 1,300 Miao households.

Kaili is the center of Miao culture with a significant population of Miao and Gejia (officially classified as Miao). Every year, there are more than 120 ethnic festivals hosting in Kaili, which attracts travelers all over the world to experience the unique Miao culture.

No.2 Dong Villages in Rongjiang City

Location: 195 km east of Guiyang city

Rongjiang county, with a total population of 260,000, is the home to mainly Dong people. The most famous one is Chejiang Dong Village, which is located to the east of Rongjiang city, and is the cradle of standard Dong dialect. In the village, the Chezhai Drum Tower, with 120 years’ history, and the Sama temple are the must-see attractions. Every year, during the first lunar month, the Dong from nearby villages will gather there to celebrate the Sama Fastival.
