Day 1 Guilin - Li River Cruise - Yangshuo ( L )

This morning, your local guide and driver will meet you at your hotel in Guilin downtown.
As the declaration in Chinese textbook "Guilin’s landscape is the best under heaven", today you will explore this best landscape starting with a relaxing sightseeing cruise along the Li River from Mopanshan Pier to Yangshuo Town. Along the 84-kilometer cruise, dazzling scenery overwhelms your eyes like a vast endless Chinese painting of winding river, green limestone Karst mountains, fascinating countryside views, and the background image on the back of the 20 RMB note. (Please note: Lunch is served by the cruise with simple local Chinese cuisine. And you can take some snacks when getting on board.)
After about 4 hours’ cruise, disembark in Yangshuo Town, and check in your hotel. After a short break, you will start your exploration of the ideal countryside view of Ten-mile Gallery. Throw yourself into the stunning countryside views and relaxed atmosphere. Be enthralled by the patches of paddy fields nestling under green Karst hills, with farmers cultivating. Record the peculiar hole of Moon Hill at Li Village with your simple shutter with a simple wander. Then, be escorted back to your hotel.
Optional evening activity:
Watch the splendid evening performance of Impression Liu Sanjie with the Li River itself as the stage, which was directed by famous director - Zhang Yimou (usually performs for an hour between around 19:45 and 22:20).

Day 2 Yangshuo (B, L)
Yangshuo Yulong River (Cycling + Local Family Visiting + Bamboo Rafting)
Today, after your breakfast, our guide will take you to enjoy your best highlight cycling experience along the picturesque Yulong River (Yangshuo - Jiuxian Village - Xiangui Bridge - Shuiedi Dock). Immerse yourself into the fascinating countryside view with the rolling hills around and crystal clear river with the reflection of mountains, bamboos, trees, floras and blue sky, and enjoy this simple moment to see the refreshing color combination of farmland pieces, flowers, plantations and footpath. Visit a local family house to see the living environment of local peasants and their daily farming tools. After the cycling and family visiting experience for about 2.5 hours, continue your exploration of Yulong River highlights by enjoying the joyous bamboo rafting from Shuiedi Dock to Gongnong Bridge, the most classic part (about 40-50 minutes). Sit leisurely back on the bamboo chair and admire the emerald sightseeing passing by, enjoy every minutes like traveling in a traditional Chinese landscape painting. After that, have a break and enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant. Then, continue to bike back to West Street (0.5 hours).
For the rest of the day, you can catch your flight / train off Guilin to your next destination or home, or continue your exploration of Yangshuo by walking leisurely on the ancient West Street to witness how the western culture and Chinese culture perfectly and peacefully coexist here. Whether you want to enjoy a cup of drink in bar, taste some local food, or just experience the relaxing atmosphere, you get it here. Tour ends!
Note: according to the regulations of Yulong River Tourism, children less than 1 meter high and elders over 70 years old are not allowed to take the bamboo rafting.
Optional activities: If you are interested in cooking, you can join our popular Cooking Class at 15:30 to learn more about Chinese ingredients and how to cook Chinese dishes with the guide of English-speaking chef. Also, you can learn more about Chinese culture by joining the Calligraphy Class or Taichi Class. Just tell your interests to your guide.

1. Tracy is ever patient in clarifying our queries. Even when on vacation herself, she answered our email. When we made several adjustments to our itinerary, Tracy dutifully made changes and updated us. As my elderly mother is only able to read in Chinese, I requested for a Chinese itinerary. Although it was not available, Tracy typed out the summarised daily itinerary just for us. We really appreciate Tracy's dedication in providing excellent service to us.
2. The local guides at all the districts are professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. All of them took extra care of my elderly mother who is 75 years old. On my birthday, Xiao Rong (Eileen) of Kunming even prepared a bouquet of flowers and a gift for me. Her recommendations for eating out were all very good. We enjoyed the Guo Qiao Mi Xian at Yun Xian Lou and the lunch we had before visiting the Stone Forest was fantastic! When we left for Dali, she prepared fruits for us. She is very generous and thoughtful indeed. Amy Du of Lijiang was very apologetic about us missing out on Mu Mansion tour, even though it was because we moved from point to point at a pace too leisurely in Dali. We eventually arrived late in Lijiang and could not enter Mu Mansion before its closing time at 5pm. She was especially considerate to us trying to acclimatise to high altitude and observed us carefully and gave us tips to avoid altitude sickness.
Travelling from point to point throughout the whole itinerary was at a leisurely and comfortable pace. Our main transport were minivans. The drivers drove in a safe manner that puts us at ease. From Dali to Shangrila, the minivan was new and very comfortable. The service staff at ArroKhampa in Shangrila were especially affable and friendly. It was very interesting to chat with them during our cosy breakfasts.
3. Yes, I'm willing to recommend your service to people who also have an interest in visiting China. In fact, we have already done so.

For biking: we suggest you wear comfortable and quick-drying clothes and trainers to enjoy a better biking experience and protect yourself from catching a cold after sweating. During summer time, it may be a little hot for biking for a long time, so you can tell how much time you want to bike along the Yulong River to your guide.
For bamboo rafting: bamboo rafting is a classic activity to enjoy the fun and beauty of Yulong River. However, one raft can only hold 2 people, and children more than 1 meter high are required to take the raft together with adults. Besides, as the raft is slippery, it is better to sit on your chair for the sightseeing and avoid standing or walking in case of falling into the river. Furthermore, it would arouse some waves when passing weirs, so remember to lift your feet and protect your belongings especially mobiles and cameras.
