Hong Kong is located in the south of China and the east coast of Pearl River Estuary. Macau is situated in the central-south of Guangdong Province and the west coast of the Pearl River Delta, which is across the river from Hong Kong. Distance between Hong Kong and Macau is about 62km (in a straight line). Generally, people get to Macau from Hong Kong by ferry and private car. From - to: Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal (香港上环港澳码头) / China Ferry Terminal (香港中港城码头/中国客运码头) / Tuen Mun Ferry Pier (香港屯门客运码头) / SkyPier (香港国际机场海天客运码头) to Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal (澳门外港客运码头/港澳码头) / Taipa Ferry Terminal (澳门氹仔客运码头/北安码头)
Duration: 40 minutes ~ 60 minutes
This is the most regular way from Hong Kong to Macau. You can take ferry at 4 terminals in Hong Kong (Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal / China Ferry Terminal / Tuen Mun Ferry Pier / SkyPier ) to 2 terminals in Macau (Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal / Taipa Ferry Terminal ). In general, most people take ferry at Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal to Macau. As there are not so many ferries in Tuen Mun Ferry Pier and SkyPier, it is advised to take ferry at the other two terminals.

Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal (香港上环港澳码头) - The Best Choice
Located at Connaught Rd Central, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong (香港岛中环信德中心), Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal is about 3 Km from Central Plaza of Hong Kong. You could easily take No. 722 New Bus or Island Line to this terminal with about 20 minutes from Central Plaza of Hong Kong. Near the terminal, there are several attractions you could go, such as Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park, Sun Yat-sen Statue, Victoria Peak and so on. In addition, there are ferries almost the whole day. Most people choose to take ferry at this terminal to Macau.
China Ferry Terminal (香港中港城码头/中国客运码头) - An Alternative Choice
Located at No. 33, Guangdong Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong (香港金沙咀广东道33号), China Ferry Terminal is the second cross border ferry terminal of Hong Kong. It is about 3 km from Central Plaza of Hong Kong to this terminal. You could firstly take ferry at the Wan Chai Ferry Pier to Tsim Sha Tsui, then get on the 77M bus at Star Ferry Pier. After 2 bus stations, you could get off. Then you will find the China Ferry Terminal. Near the terminal, you could find Star Ferry Pier, Former Kowloon-Canton Railway Clock Tower and other attractions. As this terminal is near the downtown area of Hong Kong, it is also convenient for you to catch ferry.
Tuen Mun Ferry Pier (香港屯门客运码头) - Outside the Downtown Area
Tuen Mun Ferry Pier is located at 148 Wu Chui Rd, Tuen Mun, Hong Kong (香港屯门湖翠路148号). It is the third cross border ferry terminal of Hong Kong. It is about 36km from Central Plaza of Hong Kong. You could take the City Bus No. 962X from the plaza to this terminal, which could take about 1 hour. There are Sun Yat-sen Park and many other natural parks near the terminal. As this terminal is located at New Territories and it only has 7 to 9 ferries to Macau each day, it is not advised to choose this one only if you stay near the terminal.
SkyPier (香港国际机场海天客运码头) - Transit Passengers Only
SkyPier is located at Hangtian Rd, Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong (香港赤鱲角航天路). It is a terminal operated by the Hong Kong Airport and located inside the airport restricted area. Remember that, in Hong Kong, this terminal is only available for transit passengers. If you start from Macau, you can not buy ticket and use ferry from Macau to Skypier without valid flight ticket and passport. SkyPier is in the northeast of Hong Kong Airport and is about 2km from the Hong Kong Airport. If you arrive at Hong Kong Airport, you could easily take the Airport Express to get off at the HongKong Station, then take a taxi or walk for 800m to the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal.
Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal (澳门外港客运码头/港澳码头) - Close to Historical Center of Macau
Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal is located at Haigang Qiandi, Macao Special Administrative Region, China (中国澳门特别行政区海港前地). Once arriving at this terminal, you could take the bus No.3 to the downtown area of Macau. If you plan to visit the Historical Center of Macau, you could choose this terminal.
Taipa Ferry Terminal (澳门氹仔客运码头/北安码头) - Close to Casino, Airport and Beach
Taipa Ferry Terminal is located at Dama Road, Beian Tianhai District, Macao Special Administrative Region, China (中国澳门特别行政区氹仔北安填海区). Once arriving at this terminal, you could take the bus No.26 to the downtown area of Macau. If you want to visit casinos, go shopping in Macau, or catch the flight from Macau Airport, it's advised to choose this terminal.
Hong Kong Airport to Macau Ferry
Most tourists plan to go to Macau from Hong Kong Airport, and here we can give you some advises about how to go from Hong Kong Airport to Macau Ferry.
As SkyPier is in the northeast of Hong Kong Airport and is about 2km from the Hong Kong Airport, you could choose to take ferry at this nearest terminal. Once arriving at Hong Kong Airport, you could firstly buy a ferry ticket from SkyPier to Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal or Taipa Ferry Terminal in the Counter of Macau Ferry, then the staff will take you to the free shuttle bus to SkyPier. But be aware that the ferry service from SkyPier is only available for transit passengers.
Otherwise, as there are not so many ferries from SkyPier to Macau, you could go to the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal to take ferry. The distance between Hong Kong Airport to Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal is about 35 km. You could firstly take the Airport Express to get off at the HongKong Station, then take a taxi or walk for 800m to the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal chosen by most people from Hong Kong to Macau. The total time cost will be about 50 minutes. You can also choose to take bus which could be cheaper than Airport Express, but you need to pay your time and transfer for several times. It would save your time if you choose our private transfer service.

By a helicopter from Hong Kong to Macau is the fastest way for you, meanwhile, it is also the most expensive one with about ¥4148 for a single way ticket. There are 21 flights you could take from 10:30 to 23:59 every day. You could save much time and enjoy the feelings of flying across river. However, most people will not choose this kind of transportation because of the money.

Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, with the length of 55km, is the world’s longest cross-sea bridge. Built from 2009 to 2018, it is one of the world’s wonder of bridge engineering. This bridge connects Hongkong, Zhuhai and Macau, with which local people could transfer between these places more convenient than ever. Since it was put into use in late 2018, this bridge has attracted many tourists. You could take bus on the bridge to travel from Hong Kong to Macau. The total time you need from the Hong Kong Port to Macau Port is the same for each of the following 3 kinds of buses, which is nearly 2 hours.
However, every one of them has its own advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, you need to take all your luggages and deal with your Entry and Exit Procedures when arriving at Hong Kong Port and then get on bus again, although you can easily take Direct Bus in the Hong Kong city. On the other hand, shuttle bus only takes you to across the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, and you need to take another bus or car between downtown area and two ports, although you don’t need to get off the bus in halfway (You should first deal with your Entry and Exit Procedures and then get on the shuttle bus).
