Tracy's 4 Days Macau Food Trip

It was a mundane day in 2022, and I was checking cheaper flight tickets when I stumbled upon an irresistible promotion. The promotion was for a two-for-one deal on flights from Chengdu to Macau. And the hotels were also offering great discounts during that time. I immediately shared the news with my husband, and we both agreed that we couldn’t let this opportunity pass us by. Even though we didn’t have any concrete plans, we decided to pack our bags and embark on a spontaneous food-themed trip to Macau. We were excited to explore this city’s rich culinary culture, which is a blend of Chinese and Portuguese influences. We were ready to let our taste buds guide us as we indulged in some of the city's most famous culinary delights.

Day 1 Chengdu to Macau Nov. 03

The flight from Chengdu was smooth, and we reached Macau in the evening. After checking in our hotel in Taipa, we stepped outside to soak in the city’s night view. However, the sight of empty streets and lack of tourists was a bit sad for us as we work in the travel industry.

On the second day, we took a comfortable bus ride from Taipa to Macau Peninsula to explore the city’s historical landmarks. Along the way, we enjoyed beautiful views of Macau from different angles. After getting off the bus, we went directly to a famous local market for breakfast. The food were really good.

Then we started our trip from the historical sight of the Ruins of the St. Paul Cathedral, which is a gothic church constructed by Portuguese in 1562 and once was the largest cathedral in Asia. With a history of over 350 years, it is inscribed as a World Cultural Heritage site symbolizing Macau now.

Next keep going up for Monte Fort, from which we enjoyed the scenic view of the city. Monte Fort (also known as Fortaleza do Monte) is a historical fort located in Macau, a region on the southern coast of China. The fort was built in the 17th century by the Jesuits, but it was later expanded and reinforced by the Portuguese in the 19th century.

In the beautiful afternoon, we took a delightful trip to the Macau Fisherman's Wharf and enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the area. We even tried to walk to a lighthouse we spotted

Day 3 Macau Nov. 05

On this day, we continued to explore more old part of Macau to experience local life and find more local food. An amazing day started with our nice breakfast! There are many famous and nice coffee shops nearby.

We walked around and met the Casas - Museu da Taipa. The color of it is very cute and fesh, well-matched with my light-green coat.

Day 4 Macau to Chengdu Nov. 06

As my time in Macau draws to a close, I can't help but feel a pang of sadness in my heart. It's always tough to bid adieu to a place that has captured your soul and bud of course so completely. From the delicious street food to the delectable seafood, Macau's culinary offerings are nothing short of heavenly. I will miss Macau and miss Macau food so much!
