Leo's 1 Day Panda Tour in Chengdu in May 2020

I have lived in Chengdu for 10 years and this was my first time to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, which is not only the most important panda scientific research center, but also dwelling home for more than 100 Giant Pandas.

-Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding-

I took Metro Line 3 to Panda Avenue station and from here, I bought my tickets for the Panda Base and the bus tickets. If you would like to see pandas, you can use our private vehicle service (taking around one hour from Chengdu downtown) which is more convenient.

Upon my arrival, I checked in with my ID card and panda tour started.

-Chengdu Panda Base Arrival-

First of all, I visited the Sub-Adult Giant Panda Enclosure A, a sleepy panda was sleeping on the tree; Today A had two pandas living here, one is named Jing Liang and the other is Zhi Ma;

I was very lucky that I met a peacock but it’s not opening.

On the way to the Sunshine Delivery House for Giant Pandas, I met some very interesting things that three persons were photographing birds with very expensive cameras with telephoto lens.

-Photographing Birds-

This one was taking a shower and left us his back. He seemed a little sad but his back with two ears looked very cute. People stayed for a long time because of him.

-Cute Panda-

Finally I got to the Sunshine Delivery House for Giant Pandas. Wow, three little ones, very cute! I really wanted to touch them, even one second! I think they are very soft and warm, but we can’t touch them! If you would like to get closer to pandas, you can choose to do a full day panda volunteer program in Dujiangyan Panda Base, which is around 1.5 hours driving from Chengdu downtown.

-Three Baby Pandas-

These three little pandas’ information are:

PingPing, male, born in March. 17. 2020; AnAn, male, born in March. 17. 2020; Chunsheng, male, born in March. 21. 2020;

The last part was Red Pandas and I headed to No. 1 Red Panda Enclosure. From here, almost all Red Pandas are resting on the trees. They barely stay on the floor. Please don’t tease the Red Pandas as they are aggressive!

Till here, my panda tour was about to end. Before I left the panda base, I also went to Panda Museum to learn more history of pandas, which is worthy if you would like to know more about them.
