How Far is Qufu from Jinan? Jinan to Qufu Distance
Where is Jinan? Jinan, the capital and the second largest city (after Qingdao) of Shandon, is located in central Shandong, Eastern China, about 400 km south of Beijing, 840 km northwest of Shanghai, 365 km from Qingdao and 72 km from Mount Tai in Tai’an. Jinan is surrounded by Binzhou, Zibo, Laiwu, Tai’an, Liaocheng and Dezhou within Shandong Province.
Where is Qufu? Qufu is a county-level city in the north of Jinan, southwestern Shandong. It only locates 85 km south of Mount Tai, 400 km west of Qingdao, 580 km from Yantai and around 650 km from Weihai.
Jinan to Qufu Distance: Qufu is situated in the south of Jinan with Tai’an (location of Mount Tai) between them. The distance from Jinan to Qufu is nearly 150 km, for 2.5 hours’ drive.
How to Travel from Jinan to Qufu?
At the present time, taking a train is the most convenient way to make the excursion to Qufu from Jinan; especially the fast high speed train is very popular. Please note that there is no flight flying between the two short-distance destinations.

Option 1: Travel from Jinan to Qufu by High Speed Train (Most Recommended)
● Train Time: about 30 minutes ~ 40 minutes
● Frequency: over 55 trains per day
● From & To: Jinan West/Jinan/Jinan East Railway Station 济南西站/济南站/济南东站 → Qufu East Railway Station 曲阜东站
● Running Speed: 300 km/h -350 km/h (Fuxing Train)
The fastest and best way to travel from Jinan to Qufu is taking a high speed train. The shortest train trip is about 30 minutes and most other high speed trains take around 40 minutes to within 1 hour. There are totally more than 55 high speed trains (all are G trains) available each day and they depart from Jinan between about 06:30 and 22:00.
The high speed trains have better facilities and services than normal trains, whose cleanness, punctuality and high speed have won public popularity. Three types of tickets are offered: First Class Seat, Business Class Seat and Second Class Seat. If lucky, you may take the advanced Fuxing Train running at a flying speed of 350 km per hour.
Jinan West Railway Station 济南西站
Address: No.6, Qilu Avenue, Huaiyin District, Jinan City, Shandong Province 山东省济南市槐荫区齐鲁大道6号
Distance: about 13 km, 35 minutes’ drive from the city center (Baotu Spring & Daming Lake); about 15 km, 35 minutes’ drive from Thousand Buddha Mountain and 21 km, 45 minutes’ drive from Shandong Museum.
Jinan Railway Station 济南站 (Closest to Downtown Jinan)
Address: No.19, Chezhan Street, Tianqiao District, Jinan City, Shandong Province 山东省济南市天桥区车站街19号
Distance: just 3.5 km, 15 ~ 20 minutes’ drive from the downtown; only 7 km, 25 minutes’ drive from Thousand Buddha Mountain and 13 km, 30 minutes’ drive from Shandong Museum.
Jinan East Railway Station 济南东站 (Not Recommended)
Address: North Peijiaying Village, Wangsheren Street, Licheng District, Jinan City, Shandong Province山东省济南市历城区王舍人街道裴家营村北侧
Distance: about 20 km, 40 minutes’ drive from the downtown; about 22 km, nearly 1 hour from Thousand Buddha Mountain and 16 km, 45 minutes ~ 1 hour from Shandong Museum.
Qufu East Railway Station曲阜东站
Address: Kongzi Avenue, Xizou Town, Qufu City, Jinan City, Shandong Province 山东省济南市曲阜市息陬镇孔子大道
Distance: about 11 km, 20 minutes ~ 30 minutes’ drive from the city center and the Temple of Confucius; about 90 km, 1.5 hours’ drive from Jining Qufu Airport.

Option 2: Travel from Jinan to Qufu by Normal Train
● Train Time: about 2.5 hours
● Frequency: about 2 trains per day
● From & To: Jinan Railway Station 济南站 → Qufu Railway Station 曲阜站
● Running Speed: 120 km/h
Besides, Jinan runs 2 daily normal trains to Qufu every day. The trains are K trains leaving Jinan at about 09:00 and 15:30, arriving Qufu after a 2.5 hours’ ride. The train fare is cheaper than high speed train, but the old facilities, slower speed, double duration and limited trains make it a less popular and inconvenient option. Soft Seat, Hard Seat and Hard Sleeper are offered on the normal trains.
Qufu Railway Station 曲阜站
Address: East Kuiquan Road, Qufu City, Jinng City, Shandong Province 山东省济宁市曲阜市逵泉东路
Distance: about 5 km, 15 minutes’ drive to downtown & the Temple of Confucius; about 90 km and 1 hour 20 minutes’ drive from Jining Qufu Airport.
