Serving as the busiest and second longest route among all China’s rail network, this vertical line connects 28 cities in the north, central and south China, and offers convenient transfer to Xian, Hong Kong and other popular tourist destinations.
Every day, there are 5 G high speed trains leaving from Guangzhou to Beijing from 07:46am to 12:50pm. The whole duration lasts for 8 hours to 10.5 hours. Among all the schedules, G72 is the first train that runs the longest time, and G80 is the fastest train as well as the second train.

Guangzhou Beijing High Speed Train Route
The Guangzhou Beijing High Speed Railway is a high speed railway 2298 kilometers long that connects two major economic zones in China, Bohai Economic Rim and Pan-Pearl River Delta. Constructed as the longest high speed rail that time, this route contains three major parts, including sections between Beijing-Zhengzhou, Zhengzhou-Wuhan and Wuhan-Guangzhou. Beginning from Guangzhou South Railway Station, it runs to central and north China to Guangzhou South Railway Station in south China, passing through Guangdong, Hunan, Hubei, Henan, Hebei and Beijing (6 provinces in total). Major stations along this rail line include Changsha South (长沙南), Wuhan (武汉), Zhengzhou East (郑州东) and Shijiazhuang (石家庄).

Guangzhou South Railway Station (广州南站)
Location: Shibi Village, Shibi Street, Panyu District, Guangzhou (广州市番禺区石壁街石壁村)
Guangzhou South Railway Station is one of the four railway stations and terminuses in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, which is located about1 hour’s driving to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and 40 mins’ driving to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. Covering an area of 615,000 square meters, the station is the biggest modernized railway passenger depot that delivering the largest number of high speed trains in China, much more than Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station. Linked by Beijing Guangzhou High Speed Railway, Guangzhou Shenzhen Hong Kong High Speed Railway and Guiyang High Speed Railway and several lines, the station handles around 750 high speed trains throughout the country, including Beijing, Xian, Chengdu, Guilin, Kunming, Chongqing, Guiyang, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Tianjin, Nanjing, Wuhan and etc. To get to Guangzhou South Railway Station, you can take taxi directly from your hotel, or take advantage of public transportation, by city bus or subway lines (Guangzhou Metro Line 2 and Line 7). So far, there is no airport express traveling between the station and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.
Beijing West Railway Station (北京西站)
Location: No.118, East Lianhuachi Road, Fengtai District, West Beijing (北京市丰台区莲池东路118号)
Beijing West Railway Station is one of the four major train stations in Beijing, which lies near the West 3rd Ring Road, about 25 mins’ driving to Palace Museum, 40 mins’ driving to Beijing Nanyuan Airport and 1 hour to Beijing Capital International Airport. Put into use in 1996, this station covers an area of 510,000 square meters, and offers around 200 high speed trains to destinations like Xian, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Guiyang, Urumqi, Taiyuan, Lanzhou, Wuhan, Changsha.... It is the departure station of Beijing Guangzhou High Speed Rail, Beijing Kowloon (Hong Kong) Railway and Beijng Lhasa (Tibet) Railway. There are many ways you can use to get to the train station, for example, taking a taxi (the most efficient way if you avoid the rush hours) or transfering to Beijng Metro Line 7 and Line 9 connected with Beijing South Railway Station on basement floors. Class of Ticket
There are three kinds of tickets are provided on high speed train from Guangzhou to Beijing, Business Class Seat, First Class Seat and Second Class Seat. Second Class Seat is the most budget level you will share a row space with other passengers. And the First Class of Seat is more comfortable and quiet for those who prefer a good rest on the way. Book, Collect, Alter and Cancel
Foreign tourists can book train ticket online or ask help from ticket agency, or buy the tickets physically at the train station with your valid passport. One thing you should remember is to book the ticket as early as possible, especially in peak tourist seasons. After collecting the tickets, please read carefully about the train number, departure date and station to make sure you won’t miss the train. 1) Prepare your documents well (valid passport with China Visa); 2) Get to the right train station in advance; 3) Collect train tickets; 4) Read your train ticket; 5) Pass the security control; 6) Pass through Security & Luggage Checks; 7) Find the right waiting room; 8) Cross the ticket checking gate; 9) Get to the right platform; 10) Get on your train. Baggage Allowance
