Beijing Kunming High Speed Train Route

Beijing Kunming High Speed Railway is a 2,760km (1,715miles) long syntagmatic railroad line that starts at Beijing and terminates at Kunming. It mainly includes two parts: Beijing Changsha section (north Beijing Guangzhou High Speed Railway) and Changsha Kunming section (west Shanghai Kunming High Speed Railway). Begins at Beijing West Railway Station in Beijing, the railway traverses Shijiazhuang (in Hebei Province), Zhengzhou (home to Shaolin Temple and Mount Song), Wuhan (in Hubei Province), Changsha (in Hunan Province), Guiyang (capital of Guizhou), and eventually gets to Kunming South Railway Station in Kunming. The whole train journey takes around 11 hours to 12.5 hours. The through high speed railway between Beijing and Kunming will be constructed and completed after 2020, linking southwest China with southeast Asian areas.

Beijing West Railway Station (北京西站)

Location: No.118, East Lianhuachi Road, Fengtai District, Beijing (北京市丰台区莲花池东路118号)

As one of the major train stations in Beijing, Beijing West Railway Station offers passenger transport service for high speed trains and normal trains on Beijing Guangzhou High Speed Railway, Beijing Lhasa (Tibet) Railway and Beijing Kowloon (Hong Kong) Railway. It is located about 25 mins’ driving to Forbidden City and 1 hour’s driving to Beijing Capital International Airport. You can get to the station by taxi, bus (more than 30 bus lines), airport express (line 7 from Beijing Capital International Airport) and subway (Beijing Metro Line 7 and Line 9). Kunming South Railway Station (昆明南站)

Location: Xiangyuan Street, Chenggong District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province (云南省昆明市呈贡区祥园街)

Kunming South Railway Station is a huge high speed train station in east Dianchi Lake, southeast Kunming. The station serves over 100 trains on Shanghai Kunming High Speed Railway, Yunnan Guangxi (Nanning Kunming) High Speed Rail, Chongqing Kunming High Speed Railway and Kunming Yuxi Intercity High Speed Railway. Also it delivers bullet trains to Dali and ordinary trains to Lijiang. Situated about 50 mins’ driving to downtown, 40 mins’ driving to Dragon Gate, 1.5 hours’ driving to Stone Forest and 4 hours’ driving to Dongchuan Red Land, Kunming South Railway Station is accessible by local bus (over 10 bus lines), taxi, metro (Kunming Subway Line 1) and airport shuttle (Line 919K from Kunming Changshui International Airport).
