Beijing Location: Beijing lies in the North China Pain, bordering Tianjin to the southeast and Hebei Province in other sides. It is about 1,065 km (662 mi) away from Xian and 1,180 km (733 mi) from Shanghai.
Jinan Location: Jinan is located in the central Shandong Province, southeast edge of the North China Plain, Eastern China. The city is surrounded by 6 other cities within Shandong Province, and they are Binzhou, Zibo, Laiwu, Tai’an, Liaocheng and Dezhou from east to west. Jinan is in the east of Qingdao with a distance of 365 km (227 mi), about 72 km (45 mi) to Mount Tai and 150 km (93 mi) Qufu in the south.
Distance from Beijing to Jinan: Jinan is situated in 400 km (249 mi) southeast of Jinan, taking around 4.5 to 5 hours’ drive.

The high speed bullet train travel has become a fashion, new and much more convenient way of travel in China. Only 1.5 to 2 hours, you can easily get from Beijing to Jinan, more efficient than a normal-speed train. Every day, there are around 100 high speed trains (all are G trains) departing from Beijing South Railway Station in Beijing to Jinan Railway Station and Jinan West Railway Station in Jinan. The trains leave from 06:30 to 21:00 and all arrive on the same day. Based on different rail lines, you may directly reach Jinan or stop at a few medial stations. On Beijing to Jinan high speed trains, three kinds of tickets are sold: Second Class Seat, First Class Seat and Business Class Seat. Distance: about 18 km (30 minutes’ drive) from the city center (Baotu Spring Park); about 15 km (40 minutes’ drive) from Thousand Buddha Mountain; about 20 km (1 hour's drive) from Shandong Museum; about 46 km (50 minutes’ drive) from Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport

Option 2: Get from Beijing to Jinan by Normal Train
● Train Time: 6 hours - 8 hours
● Frequency: about 5 trains per day
● From & To: Beijing Railway Station 北京站 → Jinan Railway Station 济南站/Daminghu Railway Station 大明湖站
● Running Speed: 120 km/h
● Advantages: lower price, slower pace of travel, short distance from the terminal to city center
● Disadvantages: longer duration, traditional basic and simple facilities, arriving time is too early
Apart from the fast high speed trains, there are still several normal trains running from Beijing to Jinan with a longer duration of 6 to 8 hours. They all are K trains, starting from Beijing Railway Station between 10:30 to 00:00 to Jinan Railway Station and Daminghu Railway Station. Some can get to Jinan within the same day but need to make almost 10 stopovers on the way, while some are overnight trains arriving on the next early morning with less intermediate stations. Likewise, you can choose from three types of tickets: Soft Sleeper, Hard Sleeper and Hard Seat.
Our Advice: Considering travel time and cost, a high speed train should always be your first choice, since there are quite a lot of high speed trains running daily with a better travel experience.

How to Plan a Beijing Jinan Tour
