Shanghai Shenzhen High Speed Railway & Train Map 2025

Shenzhen, a fishing village 30 years ago, now has grown to a big city. Visiting Shenzhen allows you to witness the earthshaking changes of China and you can also visit some historical sites related to Hakka culture. In many travelers’ itineraries, Shanghai is always the first stop because it can be easily approached by international flights. After a Shanghai tour, it is available to take a high speed train to Shenzhen. From 07:46 to 11:24, there are 11 high speed trains usually running from or passing through Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station or Shanghai Railway Station to Shenzhen North Railway Station, including both G-trains and D-trains. The whole train journey of the trains takes about 11.5 hours. The trains arrive at around 14:00 ~ 22:30 so you can enjoy the scenery along the railway in the daytime during your trip. There also 2 normal T-trains available to transfer between Shanghai and Shenzhen, but they take 7 more hours.

Shanghai Shenzhen High Speed Railway is 1,623 kilometers (1,008 miles) long. Starting from Shanghai, it passes through Zhejiang Province and Fujian Province to Guangdong Province. Traveling with Shanghai Shenzhen High Speed Train, you can enjoy the great rural views of southeastern China. Along the railway station, there are 27 midway railway stations, including Hangzhou East (杭州东), Ningbo (宁波), Wenzhou South (温州南), Fuzhou South (福州南), Xiamen North (厦门北), Huizhou South (惠州南), etc. In peak seasons, there will be some additional high speed trains which only stop in some of the midway train stations.
