Beijing Hangzhou High Speed Rail is jointed at Nanjing by Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Rail and Nanjing-Hangzhou High Speed Rail. This railway begins from Beijing South Railway Station in Beijing, runs approximately 1279 kilometers through Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and finally arrives at Hangzhou East Railway Station after 4.5 hours to 6 hours high speed train travel. Besides, it offers great opportunity for tourists who would like to explore more Chinese ancient history and culture to take a short stay in Nanjing, or lengthen trip to Shanghai, Wuzhen, Water Town, Huangshan and other spots arround. Beijing South Railway Station (北京南站)
As the largest train station delivering the most high speed trains (about 400 trains) in Beijing, Beijing South Railway Station is linked by Beijing-Tianjin Intercity High Speed Railway and Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway, and currently it runs trains to Shanghai, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), Nanjing, Qingdao and cities in northeast China. It is located in No.12 Yongwai Avenue, Fengtai District, South Beijing (北京市丰台区永外大街12号), about 1 hour’s driving to Beijing Capital International Airport, 30 mins’ driving to Palace Museum and Tiananmen Square. You can take Metro Line 4 and Line 14 to get the station, transfer between the station and Beijing Capital International Airport by airport bus or reach here by taxi. Hangzhou East Railway Station (杭州东站)
Serving as a principal high speed train station in Hangzhou, Hangzhou East Railway Station operates about 500 daily high speed trains to Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Guangzhou, Huangshan, Chongqing, Wuhan, Ningbo, Kunming and ect. The station is a major stop on Shanghai-Kunming High Speed Railway and the starting station of Ningbo-Hangzhou-Nanjing High Speed Railway, Hangzhou-Huangshan High Speed Railway and Shangqiu-Hangzhou High Speed Railway. It is located in No.1, Tiancheng Road, Jianggan District, Hangzhou (杭州市江干区天城路1号), about 30mins’ driving (11km) to West Lake and 45 mins’ driving to Lingyin Temple. From the Hangzhou East Railway Station, you can take Metro Line 1, exit at Longxiangqiao Station (龙翔桥站) and walk about 10 minutes to West Lake, or go there directly by taxi.
