China Train (Railway) Station Photo Gallery

China has more than 5,500 high speed railway stations but only about 1,100 stations operate high speed bullet trains. The rest stations are used for normal trains or freight trains. Large city, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, etc., usually has 3 or more train stations. Most of the train station in the big cities and towns are modern and well-equipped with facilities. You can not only book and collect tickets in the train stations, but also can enjoy some local food, or enjoy a cup of tea before your train departure.

China train stations are usually named after orientation, like Beijing Nan (South) Railway Station, Xian Bei (North) Railway Station, Chengdu Dong (East) Railway Station, etc. The older train stations are usually located in the city center area, while the new stations are usually built at the outskirts or a little far away from the city center. Travelers can usually get to the train stations by taxi, subways or public buses.
