You will have a full day to discover the mystery of Leshan Giant Buddha and appreciate his magnitude from different angles – close sight, panoramic view and distant view and in two different ways – hiking and boating. Subsequently, drive back to Chengdu and immerse yourself in the relaxing & pleasurable time of Chengdu – to stay with the most attractive Giant Pandas and experience the slow-pace life in Chengdu's popular sites, like People's Park, Wenshu Temple and Jinli Old Street. A lot of delighted surprises are ready for you.
Day 1 Chengdu - Leshan Giant Buddha - Chengdu (L)
Today's highlights: Leshan Giant Buddha In-depth Exploration
In the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel, and then be driven about 2 hours from Chengdu to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site - Leshan Giant Buddha which is carved into a mountain rock cliff and overlooking the river below him. As the largest and tallest Buddha statue, he enjoys a total height of 71 meters, with14.7-meter long and 10-meter wide head, 7-meter long ears, 8.5-meter broad insteps and 8.5-meter long toes. Even his small fingernail is taller than an averagely-tall adult. The Giant Buddha was constructed in AD 713 to bless the boatmen from swift currents in river hollows. In spite of long history of over 1300 years, it is well-preserved as there is a smart water-drainage system designed inside the body to prevent weathering.
You can start your close sight of his magnitude from the top mountain, opposite the Buddha head, and then walk down the narrow stone stairway to his feet to enjoy a Liliputian perspective. Please note you may have to queue up to enter the stone stairway if you visit the Giant Buddha during the busy hours. After the close view of Giant Buddha, leave the scenic area and appreciate a 30 minutes' amazing boat experience. The boat will drive you to front of the Giant Buddha and appreciate a wonderful panoramic view of him. (Note: Please be aware that the sightseeing boats may be canceled due to factors such as water levels, extreme weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.)
After your sightseeing in Leshan, you will be transferred back to Chengdu.
Recommended Optional Evening Activities: 1) enjoy a delicious dinner of Sichuan cuisine (or hotpot) at a local restaurant; 2) watch a wonderful performance of Sichuan Opera which includes folk opera, face changing, fire spitting, rolling lights, and other delightful entertainment (usually performs during 20:00~21:30).

Day 2 Chengdu (B, L)
Today's highlights: Giant Panda Base, People's Park, Jinli Old Street
This morning you will make a stirring visit to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding which is not only the most important panda scientific research center, but also dwelling home to more than 100 Giant Pandas. Walk at leisure through the bamboo framed paths, and closely observe giant pandas of different ages eating bamboos, playing with each other, tumbling, climbing trees, etc. Don't miss the chance to visit the most adorable panda cubs in the panda kindergartens. If you are lucky, you may be able to see the precious panda babies in the nursery rooms. There is also a very informative Panda Museum where you can learn more scientific facts about Giant Pandas.
Chengdu is famous throughout China for its relaxing and leisurely pace and lifestyle, which will be demonstrated by a visit to the City’s People's Park. Sit down, order a pot of Chinese tea, have a casual chat with your friends and watch locals indulging themselves in different kinds of folk entertainment - napping, playing Mahjong, disco dancing, and giving neck massages! Next will be an impressive visit to the famous Jinli Old Street. Time will steal away as you walk quietly on the lively streets full of delicious local snacks, delicate artifacts, interesting folk shows, and other activities.
Your Chengdu tour is now about to end. You will be escorted to your hotel or airport/train station to catch the flight/train.
