Day 1 Mutianyu Great Wall Visit

You will be met by your local tour guide at your hotel, airport, or railway station and then driven about 70 km (around 1.5 hours) to one of the Seven Wonders of the World – the Great Wall. The less-crowded Mutianyu section, a well-preserved segment built during the Ming Dynasty, exceeds all expectations.

You'll take an enclosed cable car to ascend the Great Wall, arriving at Watchtower No. 14. From here, a westward glance reveals the Great Wall winding through the mountains. You’ll then hike 2-3 hours eastward to Watchtower No. 6. This mostly downhill section is not too steep, making it friendly for both kids and seniors. Walking along this path provides a wonderful experience, allowing you to enjoy scenic views and take brag-worthy photos of the wall snaking along the mountain ridges.

Upon reaching No. 6 Watchtower, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the eastern section of the Mutianyu Great Wall, featuring a steep descent to Watchtower No. 4 and a steep climb to Watchtower No. 1. If your energy permits, you can continue to Watchtower No. 1, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire Mutianyu Great Wall. Afterward, hike back to Watchtower No. 6 and descend via chairlift cable car or toboggan. The chairlift cable car gives you the sensation of having your feet and legs dangling above the forest, providing amazing views, while the toboggan ride is rather thrilling and especially loved by kids.

After Great Wall exploration, drive back to Beijing City, and take a short stop at the Beijing Olympic Village to view the magnificent Bird's Nest and Water Cube from the outside.

Tips: 1) For travelers who prefer a shorter hiking experience or want to use the enclosed cable cars to descend, please inform your travel consultant. The travel routes can be customized according to your preferences and physical limitations. 2) The chairlift cable car has open-air seating and is not recommended for those with a fear of heights (acrophobia). 3) The toboggan is not recommended for seniors over 60 years old, and children under 10 years old need to be accompanied by an adult. 4) During peak seasons, especially Chinese holidays, travelers may need to queue for up to 1 hour for the toboggan.

The quotation for this trip is from Request Per Person

1. This price is for one person, based on a group of 2 adults sharing one standard double-bed room in a 4-star hotel and traveling with our private tour in low seasons. It will drop greatly if your group has 4 or more members.
2. This price is subject to change according to your traveling season, month and date. There may be huge price increasing during public Chinese holidays, school summer vacations, tourism peak seasons or some special dates. (China Public Holiday 2024 Schedule Released)
3. Other factors that may change the final tour price include group size, hotel class, tour activities, fluctuation of currency exchange rate, etc.
4. This price is based on exchange rate USD 1=RMB 7.00. The final price will be based on the exchange rate in effect at the time of agreement with our quotation.
5. This price is only valid to March 31, 2025.
6. This price is not the final prices until the Confirmation Letter is sent.
