Shirley Yang - Our Professional China Travel Consultant
"This is Shirley from China Discovery. With a great passion for travel, I joined this professional team in 2024.
Throughout my school life, I have always been interested in foreign literature and social cultures, from the British royal family to Chinese Americans, from Shakespeare's sonnets to idolatry in popular culture, and so on. In the process of study and research, I learned many exotic customs and stories and wanted to measure my steps one by one. From all over the world, do you have a similar curiosity and yearning for China?
Having lived in Sichuan, I've personally experienced the laid-back lifestyle of Chengdu, the breathtaking scenery of Jiuzhaigou, the serene Buddhist temples on Mount Emei, the majestic Giant Buddha at Leshan, and the Taoist atmosphere of Mount Qinghai. As an amateur photographer, I also love capturing nature and cityscapes. I've visited places like Chongqing, Lijiang, and Dali for sightseeing and photography. While these experiences have been unforgettable, China's allure extends far beyond. I'm always planning my next adventure to discover more of my fascinating country.
If you choose to explore China with me, I will be more like a friend, understanding your needs, and customizing the most suitable plan for you. Whether you want to spend a warm holiday with family and friends or plan a solo escape from the city, I am happy to listen to your story and make your trip to China unforgettable! "

Hi Shirley,
Overall. It was a good experience.
First impression on the pier in Chongqing was shocking. It was not suitable nor safe for elderly and passengers with reduced mobility. Fortunately, one of the staff noticed and assisted us with the long stairs down to the ship and also with the checking process.
The ship may have seen its glory, but it was well maintained. Room was good. TV programs in the room were limited, no English program. WIFI was only available in the area near reception and weak. Food could be improved particularly for western food options. Vegetarian might also find it limited.
Itinerary was standard. Organization of excursions was efficient. Local English guides were very good.
Personally, what impressed us most was the staff. They were very accommodating and caring that made the trip much more enjoyable. The guest relation staff helped my friend who has reduced mobility. The restaurant staff assisted us with the food.
When you have a chance to provide feedback to Yangtze Cruise management, I would appreciate it if you could please pass our gratitude and recognitions on the warm welcome as well as above and beyond assistance we received from Yangtze 3 Cruise staff particularly Selena, Vicky, and Swallow (I think her Chinese name is Wang yen).

Hello, Shirley
First, I wanted to thank you for your assistance in planning our trip to China these past few months. We have exchanged many emails and your support and suggestions have been essential to our holiday.
Second, we want to highly recommend Lyla as a guide in the Guilin area. She went above and beyond for us and demonstrated great depth and breadth of knowledge about numerous topics. We asked many questions and she was very thoughtful and informative with her responses. She was also very conscientious and always made she we were comfortable and prepared for the daily activities.
We cannot recommend her highly enough and we hope other English-speaking tourists are fortunate to have her as their guide.
Thank you,
Heidi

Dear Shirley,
We both enjoyed the cruise very much. I thought we would be having some free time but the entire cruise kept us quite busy. I have to say that I was initially quite worried as this is my first cruise but the whole journey was calm and smooth so I really did not suffer any bad effects during the entire cruise.
We joined 3 optional packages which were the 3 Kingdoms On Fire, White Emperor City and the Ship Lift. All of them were well organised and despite the rain during the visit to the White Emperor City, all of them were very enjoyable. Because of the 3 optional tours that we joined, we were also given a free visit to the ship's Captain's control room worth CNY 100.
We are very happy with the good service and communication provided by you during the pre-tour, purchase process and clear details provided making us confident to travel to Chongqing without joining a group tour from Malaysia. The ship staff were quite surprised that a Malaysian senior couple were travelling on their own as they used to receive a lot of Malaysians on group tours not privately.
We would like to express our utmost appreciation to you for making this cruise a memorable experience.
Thank you & best regards

Hi Shirley,
everything went very well with our visit. Lily was great, and took the time to make sure that we had what we needed, enjoyed our stay, and didn’t have any problems. She made herself available after hours to help us get into a show, for example. I also wanted to mention our driver Men, who was very helpful, friendly, and drove safely. I was very pleased with the service that you, and your people, provided to us. Thanks again!
